The next day Rina somehow woke up on her own before Masaru showed up, but she stayed in bed anyway to wait for him. She looked out the bright window, thinking about the events on the island up to that day. When she finally heard the door open, she closed her eyes and faked being asleep. She heard the footsteps stop where Masaru usually stood, but he didn't speak right away. There was only silence for a few moments, what was he doing...?
"Rina." He finally said.
Rina slowly opened her eyes, pretending to be waking up.
"Masaru...?" She asked, glancing over at him and rubbing fake sleep from her eye.
"Hey. It's time to get up." He said, before heading for the door, "You don't need to tell me to leave this time, I remember."
"Hey." Rina called out, having a curious question, "How long do you usually sleep?"
Masaru stopped and turned around.
"A few hours. About as much as the human body needs." He replied.
"The human body needs more than a few hours." Rina said, frowning and crossing her arms.
"Maybe yours does. But I make do." Masaru said, opening the door, "I'll be outside waiting."
Rina stretched and stood up, feeling invigorated and ready for the day. She got dressed, and went outside where Masaru was leaning against the wall like always. He was sniffing his jacket, and glanced up at Rina when she walked out.
"What's wrong?" Rina asked, tilting her head at him.
"I sprayed it with cologne, but my coat still smells a bit like Fuyuko." He said with a grimace.
"I'm surprised you didn't yank her out of it yourself when she was wearing it." She said with a smirk.
"She's worked hard. I have to throw her a bone once in a while." He said in a dull tone with a shrug.
Rina giggled, and looked down the hall.
"Shall we?" Masaru asked.
Rina nodded, and they began the walk down the hall.
"Did you think of a plan for Mayu and Yuta?" She asked, looking out the windows as they walked.
"More or less." He replied simply.
"What is it?" She asked, turning to him and tilting her head.
"I'll tell you in a bit, it involves Suzu and Fuyuko, and it'll be easier to tell you all at once." He said, his gaze remaining forward.
"Ok..." Rina said, returning her head forward as well.
Masaru sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his fingers.
"This is likely going to be a pain..." He said quietly.
"It'll be worth it." Rina assured him with a smile.
"I'll trust you this time." He replied, putting his hands back into his pockets.
They reached the dining room door and went inside.
"So what's this plan you mentioned?" Fuyuko asked once the four of them were alone in the room.
"To be honest, this one isn't that extravagant." Masaru said, leaning back in his chair, "Especially compared to the last one."
"W-W-What is it?" Suzu asked, leaning forward.
"It's pretty simple. You and Fuyuko will convince Mayu to go with you to the place she lost Wasabi at." Masaru said, before glancing over at Rina, "Meanwhile Rina and I will go figure out a way to get Yuta over there."
