I finished up with my breakfast, to get furious about the thought of what to do next. For a moment I even thought of going and attending Kat's class anyways, but the thought of sitting through an hour full of magical talks that were all above my head made me reject the idea soon.I started walking in the hallway without any real destination in my mind. I reached the podium and thought of the library as my destination, for a reason I didn't know, it was just the first thought that came to my mind.
As darkness swallowed me, and unavoidable nausea followed, I stood in the podium, between never-ending stacks and stacks of books arranged. I clambered down and immediately ducked down in time to miss a flying book that would have had a clear shot of my face."Sorry" came a voice from behind. I turned around to see a woman in her mid-twenties with a metal badge on her breast which named her as Ms. Parton- Librarian.
"No harm", I replied back grinning; thankfully she left immediately to mind her own business which left me alone in a, what felt like a maze of books.
I walked towards the centre of the room where, a small golden dais was set up, with a small note hanging mid-air, which looked like instructions.
Pronounce the book you desire in your mind clearly
The instructions were very clear, and I clearly knew what I wanted. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath; finally, I will know about this place.
History of Xenopia
I thought, and in a flash were dozens of books luring over my head. For some reason, I exactly knew what to do. I touched the first book in my view gently, the title of the book read as 'A Brief History of the Three Realms'. I read the title and immediately thought of going on for another book, as I had no idea what their three realms were, or did I know? Wait! Suddenly Sonya's question popped up in my mind.
On the first day, when we met Merlin and Sonya, she asked us about the realm we came from, she mentioned some other realms name too, which were registered in my brain for sure.
I decided that I should anyways go through this book. I waved my hand like a gesture for all other books to go back; I was really stunned when that actually worked. 'Yes! You are smart girl' I thought, foolishly smiling to myself.
I walked off till the near red velvet couch. I made myself comfortable on the couch, carefully placing the, what looked like a centuries-old book on my lap. 'Here we go' I thought, smiling to myself unnecessarily.
I started ruffling through the pages, I thought was crap about the evolution of the spells and magic through years. The records were dated according to years, I lazily flipped through them until I found the interesting year 1867 from where the real history of three realms story started. That's when I realized that the incidents mentioned until now were happening on earth. I couldn't manage to drop my mouth involuntarily. It was indeed like what I suspected; we had same origin, then what happened that we split in two different ways then?
For years the silver-bloods lived in peace with the red-bloods. The silver-bloods helped the red-bloods with their magic and the red-bloods in turn helped the silver-bloods to progress on other fields other than magic, which they were specialized in, and so the civilization progressed and prospered with both the bloods working together. Until a time when, the peaceful convention between both the bloods were broken by the red-bloods. They started over exploiting the magical powers of the silver-bloods.
The silver-blood community in an attempt to keep their community safe from the red-bloods, decided to give the Eldars the authority to use the power which they were normally prohibited from. To create a new realm, by the magic only an Eldar blood could perform. The Eldar brothers with their unique and powerful magic decided to make a realm as an identity to their own element of magic.
And so each realm was made by combining all of their three powers, (except for the fourth youngest Eldar who was not recognized amongst the Eldars as to possess any special power). And so the three Eldar brothers made Xenopia, Stansia and Dominos. When it was time to create the fourth realm, the Eldar brothers banished the fourth brother as the most useless amongst them, and thus not lending their magic together for creating the fourth realm.
The realm created by the Eldars was only basic; to make it habitable, an unknown form of magic was performed by the banished Eldar brother who made other life forms flourish and made an ecosystem for the silver-bloods to live on. After completing his work, apparently the Fourth Eldar; he disappeared without any trace, and so did his powers forever.
And so the silver-bloods created their own three worlds, which was magically made invisible to any red-blood. The truth of the silver-bloods presence was removed from the minds of the red-bloods forever magically. The new world made, habituated by the silver-bloods made great technological progress over the years.
I was shaken to root, from what I just read; now I understood Professor Herlin's reaction towards me when she realized I was a red-blood. We must've done pretty bad things in the past to make an entire community move out, forcing them to create their own world.
I suddenly felt a weird knot build up in my stomach. I knew that I didn't do anything, but still my ancestors have done no justice to these people. I felt bad standing here, suddenly their reference to us as red-blood felt like a muck-blood. I didn't turn my gaze from the book in front of me. I read it again and again without actually processing it.
The mention of the fourth Eldar brother brought me back into my senses. Clearly, the Eldars weren't that good of people, I didn't know what magic they possessed that was prohibited earlier and then permitted later. A kind of magic only an Eldar blood possess? and that kind of magic that help create a realm? No wonder it was prohibited. I wanted to know more about the Eldar brothers and so I went into the Dias again and requested for the Eldar history.
No response...nothing I got back, no books swarming above my head. But yet I waited, thinking it might take a while, and so I waited for what felt like minutes, and yet no books showed up, so I just gave up and made my mind to manually search for the book in our style.
The rows were mercifully alphabetically arranged. I ran along the hall searching for the E section. I did find a book, but it was mostly about the Eldar bloodline and their family history, with no further records after 1899. Not a single member after that?
I wondered if this book was just not updated or did anything happen to all of them after that year, but Wait! not a single book on the so-called unknown superpowers the Eldar brothers possessed? How strange is that. If they were so powerful that they could create realms, they must be heroes..how is this even possible?.
I searched for more, and more, but none did I find. It was all about spells and other things I didn't even understand and didn't care about. Feeling discontent I turned back to leave for the dorm. I walked back to the podium when someone called out for me.
