The Flame

CHAPTER 7

 She didn't have to elaborate any further. It was enough to prove that we weren't going crazy, and finally we could get all our questions answered. I knew this women was the answer to all our questions, this time I voiced my thoughts.

"Do you know? Do you know why this thing... these things keeps happening to her", I asked her,desperately.

"Yes, I know why, and once again I ask for your forgiveness, that I couldn't stop it", she said frowning, but yet determined in telling the truth. "You are a silver blood Catherine a silver blood" she continued.

As soon as she said those words, a snappy comment already formed inside my head, that her blood was red and I've seen it, but then decided not to voice it, as I knew that she didn't refer to the blood color somehow. But it was Katy who voiced it.

"But my blood is red she said", though she knew what she said was just dumb, I could imagine being in her situation, after three incidence which brought her a near death experience she was mentally and physically drained, she didn't have power to take in anything. I slowly moved towards her, tugging my arm within hers, giving her a kind of reassurance that I was there for her always.

"That's not what I meant" she replied "silver blood is a what we call ourselves...we can perform magic".

"I can? I can perform magic?" she asked, unsure of what she just heard, but then who could blame her, the fact that everything happening around her is so bizarre, that she was hardly in position to question anything. But not me, according to me, this woman suddenly looked like a nut case. I started laughing, so hard that I could feel a nasty little teardrop escaping my eye.

"No offense, Ma'am but this is downright stupid, magic exists only in books and movies, maybe you have been reading a lot of them lately and it mus t've really messed up with your mind. I'm sorry, to say this, but I think its time for you to leave", I started shoving Katy away from the woman, but she didn't even move, she was so engrossed in whatever she was saying, as if, as if she clearly believed her.

I started shaking her in a hope of putting some sense into her. I didn't think she was even thinking clearly. I opened my mouth to tell the women to stop. That's when she did it, she uttered few words in some weird language and made the phone in my hand vanish. Like really vanish, I couldn't help standing there disoriented from what just happened.

"What the hell" I gasped out, I knew my eye couldn't have been wider. There was a heavy silence in the air that nobody cared to fill, except for Katy.

"Why did... why did she attack me?" It was Katy's careful words that ringed the room.

"She wanted you, Catherine, your powers are more than important, the power which you do not yield anymore, which has been detached from you, the first time she tried, she couldn't take your powers away, sub consciously your willpower was too powerful, and she wasn't prepared for that, so instead it burned her powers, it drained her of her powers, as it drained you. So she took her time then, carefully planning for her next attack. At a time when you were fragile mentally, and she did succeed. Catherine listen to me, Serena is too powerful now, now that she has your power she will go on for the next person, and if she yields the Tetrand she will be unstoppable, you need to come...come to Xenopia, that is the only place where you will be safe", she finished.

"Xenopia? Is that even on earth?" I blurted out, didn't even care to ask what the fuck on earth was a Tetrand, because half the stuff she as saying a anyways didn't make any sense to me.

"No, its our planet, planet of the silver bloods", she explained it to me calmly as a matter of fact.

"When...When it happened" Katy slowly started. I felt a strange connection with her. It felt as if she knew a part of me, and I could touch a part of her. It's difficult to explain", she shook her head, vigorously. She got lost in those horrifying memories of the incident. Taking a deep breath, she came back to us.
