FP ran into Pops, just putting on his white little hat before entering the diner by slamming the door opening and accidently slamming the door against one the booths. He held both his hands up in the sky as in excuse before putting on his white sleeve. With a swift move he climbed over the bar and jumped next to the light tanned girl who was already cleaning the counter.

''Hey Gomez. Sorry that I am late. Again.'' FP sighed a little, being disappointed in himself. He was happy that he had his job but he was lucky Pop wasn't there that day because otherwise he would really blew his changes.

Hermione stopped cleaning for a moment, looking at him. ''Long night again?'' She asked. She wasn't stupid, she already knew the answer but she also didn't feel like it was her place to judge him by that. ''Yeah, you could say that.'' His voice sounded sad, but he tried to hide it from her.

In the meantime Hermione had him some coffee, so he could wake up properly. Even though she didn't always agree with his life choices, that was just the kind of girl she was. She liked taking care of people, no matter what.

''Look, FP. I don't really care what you do at night and which girl you are doing it with. But I can't cover for you every time you oversleep, you get that, right?'' She stated, and folded her arms together to make her statement more convincing.

FP nodded softly. ''Yeah, sorry about that. It won't happen again.'' For a moment he wished that he could tell her what was going on in his life, especially at night, but for not it was better if she just thought he was sleeping around.

He wasn't going to drag an innocent girl into this, even though right now she was one of the only human's in this town he thought he could actually trust. No, he was on his own in this. He needed to get his act together and not show up late for work anymore. It was the only normal and stable thing he had in his life and he needed the money to survive, even though he would never admit that to anybody.

''How was your weekend?'' He asked when he stared making breakfast for the first customers who came in that day. He made it some many times that he could almost make it with his eyes closed.

Hermione was mopping the floor and stopped for a moment. ''It was fine. Went to the movies with Alice last Friday night, that was fun.'' FP heart lighted up a little by the mention of Alice, but he tried to ignore it. That was something from the past, she was with Hal Cooper now.

''You guys are still close, aren't you? Even after she started dating Hal?'' He asked with a little disgust in his voice, mentioning Hal. He had never been a big fan of him, especially not when Hal almost beat Fred as captain of the football team.

''She doesn't really open up, but she had never done that before either. It's nice to hang around with her.'' Hermione answered to that. For an outside it was almost a bit weird that Hermione Gomez and Alice Smith were friends since they were completely different from each other. Maybe that was why they clicked so perfectly together.

FP just murmured something, not even knowing what to respond to that. He couldn't even totally agree with her, because Alice did open up to him at some point. One night she was just crying into his arms telling him how badly she wanted to escape the south side, how terrified she was to end up like her parents. And she did. She won her ticket out of the south side, the one and only Harold Cooper.

''How are things going with you and Alice?'' Hermione asked carefully, knowing it was a touchy subject for him to talk about. The question hurt him, but just like any other emotions he didn't want to show her, or anyone else for that matter, that he was vulnerable.

''She doesn't talk to me anymore. If she wants to screw around with Hal Cooper than she should do so. Her loss.'' He said almost uninterested with a bit of annoyance in his voice.
