It was another night when FP was on a stakeout for Penny. He still hadn't paid his dept and after all she still had something the blackmail him with. Somehow the guy FP had made a deal with the first time screwed her over so now he was send on a stake-out in Greendale again. Penny wasn't stupid so this time she had send someone with him. She had done a few deliveries for her before and knew that she could watch FP.
They were sitting at the back of the truck, both staying silent. The stake-out had been boring, but FP didn't feel like talking with his so called baby-sitter. She had stared at him for almost ten minutes but he pretended to not have noticed it.
''What are you looking at?'' He said, when he became to frustrated of her staring. The girl wasn't impressed so just frowned at him and chuckled. She pushed her brown hair behind her ear and moved over a little so she was a little closer to him. ''Someone's moody.'' She said with a grin on her face.
For some reason he liked the way she wasn't impressed by him. He could see she was a Serpent at heart, not afraid of anything, but he hadn't seen her before. He chuckled back and shook his head. ''I'm sorry. What's your name again?'' He asked genuinely interested.
The girl hold her hand out for him to shake it. ''We haven't been properly introduced. I'm Marie. Marie Topaz.'' FP shook her hand and gave her a smile. ''FP Jones.'' He introduced himself.
''Yeah, I know who you are. You're the son of the King.'' FP had never liked it if people would associate him with his dad, because in his eyes he was a bad man. Nobody knew that, the Serpents only admired him. He just didn't responded to that, but Marie didn't take the hint.
''So, why are you here doing this for Penny?'' She asked nonchalantly while leaning against his shoulder. He was taken a little off guard by the question and the fact that she was so close to him now, but he didn't mind because she was beautiful and they seemed to get along.
''Why are you?'' He shot back to avoid answering her question. Marie chuckled again. He had to admit, the way she laughed was adorable. ''Yeah good point, Jones.'' She got up again and looked into his eyes.
''Let's say it's hard to say no to your ex when a part of you still loves her.'' She sighed. FP was confused, he never knew Penny had been in a relationship before. He knew she hooked up with people a lot, but not that she actually had dated someone.
''Why in god's name would someone break up with you? You are gorgeous.'' He suddenly blurted out. He didn't even realize that he just said that but when he did his cheeks shut red. It's not that he didn't mean it, he did, but he didn't mean to say those thoughts out loud.
Marie just smiled and even blushed a little. She lifted her shoulders up and down. ''Well, it was complicated. But thanks, you are very cute yourself.'' She winked at him and he gave back his crooked grin.
The hours passed by but there was no movement inside the crack house FP had been to earlier. Luckily Marie had brought a bag of candy and they were now trying to catch it with their mouths. Both of them were sitting opposite from each other, with their legs crossed. Marie threw a strawberry flavoured piece of candy in the air but FP missed catching it in his mouth.
''You suck at this game, Jones.'' She laughed at him, and shook her head. FP pretended to be offended and threw the candy he just missed at her face. ''You're not better yourself, Topaz.'' He laughed and pinched her playfully in her stomach.
After they stopped laughing she looked into his brown eyes and he looked into her blue ones. She was so beautiful. She had a light tanned skin with the most gorgeous deep blue eyes. He almost couldn't stop staring in them. They leant in towards each other until their lips softly touched in a gentle kiss. Marie deepened the kiss but FP backed off.
