An Unraveled Lie

And an embrace slowly slaughtered,

By the pain of the past;

A mix of hate and pleasure,

A memory that’s finally unmasked.

A lie becomes unraveled,

Bit, by trailing bit;

A throbbing in my head now;

A stain in every pit.

And as we walk; the midnight lies.

Beyond the corner close;

At first, it’s lit by the light of the moon;

But it darkens as we approach.

A kiss goodbye, your hand leaves mine;

And we go our different ways;

For we should’ve known that they’d find us out;

That they’d kill us in our daze.

A lover’s curse; no simple doubt.

Infatuation is the key;

An early depart; and early sent out;

Has been set upon us; you and me.
