Our Addiction

A coppery fire;

Complete with all the colors of the rainbow.

Flares into the open spaces;

Licking the small crevices with it’s serpent-like tongue.

It consumes the remainder of innocence.

Devouring even the butterfly’s golden wings;

And laughing gently as they turn to ash.

And there, we drown in our ignorance.

Forever sinking sweetly;

surrendering to that which burns our souls.

Our sin.

Our doom.

Our addiction.
