"Ed...mond..?", Claide said while still a bir dizzy.
"Yeah dude..Come on theres no time. Emilia's outside.", Edmond replied. As the two are talking the hooded figures had now readied their weapons and are ready to shoot again.
"Fire! Don't let them escape!", one of the figures exclaimed.
"Heh...one mistake. We aren't dumb enough to charge in without an escape plan. NOW!", Edmond screamed as Emilia from outside heard it, Emilia pressed a button. A smoke bomb was thrown by Edmond and the teleporter in Edmond's pocket glows. The two dissapeared and reappeared outside mear Emilia.
"It actually worked!", Emilia exclaimed.
"It sure did but it was a short ranged teleporter. We need to go now!", Edmond replied as he was helping Claide walk. They heard one of the figures, "Sir! They are outside!"
"Damn it! Move!", Edmond exclaimed.
The three tried to run away. They are now in under full chase of these figures.
"Claide hey? Can you go on?", Edmond asked Claide.
"Yeah..yeah..I can..we need to find a place to...", Claide was cut by the lights coming from the flashlights of the hooded figures.
"Go go go!", Emilia exclaimed.
The three kept running. They had to decided to go through allyways to avoid any public eye. What did they not predict is that these figures had also started searching in the allyways.
"Looks like these guys are more competent than the usual watchmen.", Edmond commented.
"Well..I guess they would be. They are probably under the commandment of Gray.", Claide added.
They heard hard footsteps approaching them.
"Why didn't I bring another teleporter", Emilia sighed and continued, "And why did I have to be runnibg away with you".
"You really don't have a choice.", Edmond replied and chuckled
"There isn't really time for jokes though..", Claide cutted in.
The three was on the run again but dure to sheer misfortune got led into a wall or a sort of dead end.
"There are footprints!", one of the figures exclaimed. Flashlights are seen coming near them turning over the corner. The alleyway they were trapped in was beside a backdoor of a house. As they were about to get caught the door suddenly opened and a middle-aged man said to them, "Get in quickly".
The three did not hesitate and quickly went inside. The three had a bug sigh of relief as they heard the figures outside not finding anything and heading back.
"You three are in a whole lot of trouble aren't you? I was afraid it would come to this Alfred.", the man said and mumbled to himself.
"T...thank you..", the three said their gratitude.
"No problem. I deliberately helped you guys anyways.", the man replied.
"De..liberately?", Edmond answered in a confused manner.
The man they had met was more than what he seemed.
