CAGED ANIMAL

Locked in a cage
Eyes peering in
Food brought in a plastic dish

Homeward bound
Nowhere to go
Bars replace doors

Mating experiments
No choice
Have to produce

Long time ahead
Have to amuse the natives
With antics and childlike games

Laughter and shouts
Flashes and points
Abuse unwarranted

Can't shy away
Can't pretend to enjoy
Only to ignore to survive

They say I'm cute
They say I'm special
They think I'm stupid

But, wait until
They find out
How smart I can be

For my spirit is strong
As well as my body and mind:
A body and mind known simply as Human
