Wishing i was with someone

Elijah is lying down on my bed, giving me ideas of what to put in the project, while i am sitting at my desk writing it down.

"Listen, I'm going to start heading home" he says as he gets up from my bed. "Thanks for letting me in bed."

"That sounds wrong." I hold in a laugh, trying to look serious.

"It was supposed to." he smirks at me. "Cya around, dweeb." He says as he walks out of my door.

    I was left in my room, alone, staring at the door he just left out of, wishing i was with someone.

A week has passed. Everyday for the last 7 days, i have been working on the project with Elijah, either going to his house or mine. His suspension ended yesterday and everything was back to normal. I'm guessing me and Elijah will not talk anymore being that there is no reason to. I don't really care about that anyways.

    I look down at my food in deep thought.

    "You know you have to eat that eventually... what's on your mind, y/n, i know something's bothering you." She says as she places her hand on my back.

    If I'm going to be honest, i don't even know what's bothering myself. Was it the test we're having today? Bullies? Homework? The physics project i handed in? Then someone sits down in the seat across from me. I look up,  it was Elijah Best. Why the heck is he here? Doesn't he know the projects over.

    I seen looks from other girls around the cafeteria, they were whispering to each other and pointing.

    "Look... over there... no, follow my finger, over there. Who are those girls with Elijah?" i hear a voice. It was definitely a girl voice, but i couldn't tell who it was from.

    Maya looks at me with shock. I haven't yet explained anything he whole "project with Elijah" thing. Why would i?

    He looks at maya. "She misses this face" he points at himself.

    "That's not true!" I mean, maybe it was. He was the only person, besides Maya, who'd talk to me. I guess i miss having a little bit of human interaction.

    Chase Miller comes over to sit next to Elijah. I didn't even have to look at Maya, i could already tell she was freaking out. I've never had any interaction with Chase whatsoever, so even i was a little surprised at this sudden movement.

    "Hello, ladies" he says with a sly smirk. He stares me and Maya down.

    Maya and i both manage to say hi back.

    I stared at Elijah who was looking behind me, then suddenly glances over at me. I looked away from him but i could still feel his cold, dead eyes, staring directly at me. I looked over to Chase who mumbled something to Elijah, in which Elijah shook his head yes  and stared behind me again. I looked behind me to see what he was looking at. It was a tall blonde girl with pink streaks in her hair. She was waving him over.

    "I have to go, I'll catch up with you guys later" he said, then walked over to the girl, and they left the cafeteria.

    "He's probably getting deep throated or something."

    I scrunch my face up in disgust.

    "Anyways," Chase says slightly laughing at my disgusted face "I'm having a party tonight, you guys coming?"

    Maya says yes for the both of us before i could say no. She knows i hate parties, especially high school parties, can you even consider them parties? All the "parties" are is drunk and high 17-18 year olds that are half dressed. I don't know about you, but that's not my cup of tea.

    Chase gives us his address,"see you guys there" he says as he leaves to go to his original table.

    "WHAT THE HELL, MAYA!?" I hide my face in my hands. "You know i hate high school parties!"

    "If you think about it, I'm actually helping you,"

    How the HELL is she helping me.
   
    "I mean what were you going to do? Watch anime and read books? You need to get out more and interact with some people."

    She wasn't wrong. I close myself off from society, but is that such a bad thing in the long run? Staying at home, reading, is better than getting drunk at a party.

    "You'll Thank me later." She says as she puts her book bag on her shoulder.

    "Doubt it" i say shaking my head.
