Lost and definitely forgotten, Jake Irvine wandered the twisted fields that were plagued with death and the deceased. Clutching Corporal.Crumbles stuffed hand (Corporal.Crumble is Jake's teddy and best friend) Jake edged his way closer to a broken down gas station. Scavenging for food or water Jake tried desperately to find anything to settle his internal knot of anger and revenge that spread through his body like wild fire. However, Jake was only four and a half years old and was extremely weak. After twenty minutes of long, hard searching he found, nothing...
As tears streamed down his dirty face Jake slowly stumbled through the broken revolving doors with Corporal.Crumble on his back. Suddenly, out of the dusty horizon was a figure. The figure of a teenage girl slowly crept towards Jake like a Tiger stalking its prey, out of panic Jake tried to run the opposite direction from which the figure was coming from. But, from sheer exhaustion Jake collapsed and with his last few seconds of being conscious he saw the figure look over him. Darkness soon followed.
Suddenly awakened from a long energy-sapping slumber Jake glared around the room, he was observing every little detail his small brain could allow. Breaking the silence, a dark door crept open revealing a girl who seemed fairly happy. Sauntering over to Jake she smiled kindly towards him. Over come with fear, relief and pure confusion Jake started to cry. Now, the girl had perched on the end of the bed and was staring into Jake's leaky eyes intensely. "Hey, I'm Mac whats your name?" She asked politely. "Jake, and this is Corporal.Crumble" Jake replied hesitantly. "Well nice to meet you and welcome to the Irvine Manor!"
Two weeks had passed. Jake had made many friends with the people who lived in the Manor but some were just that extra bit special. His babysitter Zara, a shady character but really kind and wanted the best for Jake. Toby was a jolly guy who loved to have Nerf fights and play soldiers with Jake and Corporal.Crumble (no matter how childish it was). Finally, the girl who saved his life, Mac. She was amazing to Jake, she fed him, read to him she did everything for Jake. Mac had become like a older sister to Jake, so much so, that Jake started to call her "Sis" or "Sister".
After a long story Mac placed Jake in his crib and said Goodnight. Apparently, Jake wasnt old enough to stay up with the big boys and girls (Jake hated that). Holding Corporal.Crumble in his tiny hands Jake closed his eyes and drifted off to the land of dreams. A few hours later Jake could still hear talking and laughter downstairs and he wanted to have some fun, not be cooped up in a cage like a wild dog. However, Jake was overcome by the size of the bars around him, so he made a new plan. Pinching his leg really hard was hopefully going to make Jake start to cry allowing Jake to be dramatic creating what seems like a severe circumstance for the others. As tears started to fall from Jakes murky, blue eyes like a storm he decided to add a few screams in there too. Suddenly, an army of furious footsteps charged up the stairs. The door flew open revealing not just Mac but half the residents of the manor. Reaching over the bars Mac picked Jake up and slowly calmed him almost like a parent. Mac slowly walked down the stairs with Jake while Toby and Zara followed not that far behind. His plan had worked.
As the morning sun flowed through the manor Jake could feel his eyelids start to open and straight away reject the suns brightness. Unfortunately, Jake was the youngest in the manor that means he was mainly just admired for his cute smile or puny threats. Jake had another friend however who was at a young age, she was called Sally. Sally was eight years old and had a teddy called Mr.Death. Jake and Sally used to pretend that Corporal.Crumble and Mr.Death were best friends and went on adventures when they werent looking. One thing Jake hated was Sallys obsession over the colour pink. Jake hated it. Alot. Thats all Sally would wear and they would often fight over the petty issue, but to Jake and Sally it was not a petty issue.
