Hours Earlier...

Godzilla's eyes shot open and he sat up in bed. His breath was heavy, and sweat dripped from his skin. His hands were shaking and his heart was racing. After a few moments, he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration and clenched his eyes shut. For the 10th night in a row now, he had woken up from a nightmare. He had been having them for a while, he remembered having the first one only a couple months ago, but they were never as frequent as they had been recently. Finally, after a long while and a few deep breaths, he managed to calm himself down, at least a little bit. He looked down at Mothra, who was sleeping peacefully next to him. She was facing away from him, and snoring lightly. She wasn't in her normal nightgown, since the heat was getting worse due to the seasons changing from Spring to Summer. She was only wearing a tank top and her underwear. Godzilla sighed as he ran a hand through her soft, snow white hair. Its texture instilled a sense of calm in him. While he did this, Mothra stirred awake. She turned her head up a little bit.
"Mm... another nightmare?" Mothra asked, opening her eyes only slightly.
"...Yeah." Godzilla nodded. "Sorry for waking you." He lay back down and wrapped his arms around Mothra's waist, kissing the back of her neck.
"What was it about?" Mothra muttered, nuzzling her head in the crook of Godzilla's neck.
"Same as before." He replied.
"Was it about the dinosaur or the dragon this time?" Mothra asked. Recently, Godzilla's dreams had been about giant monsters wreaking havoc on a populated city. The monsters in his dreams usually resembled either a giant dinosaur, or some sort of dragon. Sometimes they even had multiple heads. He had seen one of them before in a vision. A little over a month ago, he, Mothra, and Anguirus were pulled into an alternate dimension to fight an evil hell beast. To reward them, their guide, Solomon, allowed them visions into their future. And Godzilla's vision was of one of the monsters from his dream destroying everything. But now, he was seeing two of them in his dream.
"Both. They were fighting this time." Godzilla explained. "I still don't know what that means."
"It means you're stressing out, babe." Mothra yawned, turning around and snuggling closer to him. "Just try to relax."
"I can't just relax." Godzilla shot back. He rolled onto his back and sat up in bed. Mothra was offended by him rolling away from her at first, until she saw how frustrated Godzilla was feeling.
"Solomon showed me the future." Godzilla continued. "It was't just a dream, and it wasn't a vision. It was the future. It was nothing but destruction and chaos. And it was caused by the monsters I keep seeing in my dreams. How am I supposed to win against that?"
"You don't have to win every fight single handedly, Godzilla." Mothra said, sitting up next to him. Godzilla was confused by this statement. He sat up and faced her too, furrowing his brow in his confusion. "What do you mean?" He asked.
"I mean you're not the only protector Earth has." Mothra explained. "Not every problem has to fall on your shoulders, and not every bad guy is after you and you alone. You aren't alone in this."
Godzilla sighed. He was frustrated still, but deep in his heart he knew Mothra was correct. She truly was his single light of hope.
"You're right." He smiled, hugging Mothra closer to him. "I'm not alone. I have you, our friends, and the Jaegers to help me out. Whatever happens, whatever monsters show up, I'm sure we'll be able to fight against it."
Mothra smiled and snuggled closer to him. Slowly, sleep began to take both of them. However, Mothra's eyes shot open when she heard a noise. It was a strange noise, something she had never heard before. It sounded like a crab or spider scurrying along the ground, but much louder.
"Godzilla, do you hear that?" She asked. But Godzilla was already back to sleep. The sound got closer and closer, and she could now hear it knocking things over in the room. Something was definitely in their tent. Mothra sat up just in time to see a strange silhouette jump onto the bed. She gasped and turned on the lamp on her bedside table, illuminating the creature at her feet. It was horrific, with a body and legs that resembled an arachnid, and a head with two horrible jaws, making a clicking noise as its six black beady eyes stared at Mothra. She shrieked and kicked the creature off the bed. Both her scream and the sound of the creature hitting the ground woke Godzilla from his sleep, and he sat straight up.
"What's wrong?" He asked frantically. Mothra pointed a shaking hand to the foot of the bed, where the creature was crawling up again.
"The hell is that thing!?" Godzilla yelled. He didn't wait for an answer. He sprang out of bed and punched the creature, sending it into a wall. While it got up, he grabbed his sword, which was propped up against the other wall, and stabbed the creature through its mouth right as it lunged at him. It released a screech as it thrashed its arachnid limbs at Godzilla before it finally fell silent and stopped moving. Its body slid off of Godzilla's sword, leaving a trail of some green substance behind. Godzilla guessed this was the creature's blood.
"It's dead." He told Mothra. She released a sigh.
"What was it?" She asked. She was still shaking. "I-I can't sense its soul. It's as if it shouldn't exist. It's as if it... it's not even alive..."
"I don't know." Godzilla said, shaking his head. "But I have a feeling this isn't the last of them."
When he heard another shout of fear or surprise coming from outside, he realized he was right. He didn't even bother putting his jacket on. He was only wearing a pair of black sweatpants, and slid his sandals on as he ran out the door.  Mothra was about to go with him, but she realized she was still in her pyjamas.
"Wait up, I'll be there in a sec!" She said. Godzilla nodded as he closed the door behind him. He looked up just in time to see a strange humanoid figure running past him. It looked to be female, but she was wearing grey armour wrapped in some sort of pink cloth, along with a pair of goggles and a mask. Her entire head was covered by a hood, and she had a sword on her back. She also wore a long vest jacket that reached down to her ankles. Godzilla had never seen her before.
"Hey, stop!" He ordered. Surprisingly, the stranger listened to him and stopped in her tracks. She turned her head slowly to face Godzilla, and gasped as she saw his face.
"It's you..." She whispered. Godzilla wasn't sure what she meant by this, but that wasn't his concern.
"That creature back in my tent, it came from you didn't it?" Godzilla accused, drawing his sword and pointing it at her. The stranger relaxed and shook her head, pushing the blade away as she stepped towards him.
"No. I've been tracking them." She explained. "They're parasites, and we need to get rid of them now or else they'll overtake the island."
Godzilla trusted her almost automatically. He had no idea why, but this woman seemed trustworthy to him. It was as if he had known her for a long time. In fact, he was sure he did.
"I'll find out who you are later." He said. "If what you say is true, we need to go now."
The stranger nodded, and the two ran to where Godzilla heard the shout.

"Komi, hurry up!" Zilla said, kicking the parasite in the head as it tried to crawl up his bed.
"Keep it occupied, I need to find my sword!" Komi explained. She hadn't fought anything in a while, so she seemed to have misplaced it. This creepy clicking creature had broken into their cabin about five minutes ago. Zilla was holding it off until Komi could prepare.
"God, this thing is creepy." Zilla complained.
"Why don't you use your fire powers?" She asked.
"And burn our cabin down!?" Zilla replied. Komi couldn't argue with that. But before she could find her sword, the creature bit onto Zilla's foot. Luckily its teeth didn't pierce his sneaker, but it was still somewhat painful. He shouted in surprise as he tried to shake his foot free. The creature tore off his shoe and spat it to the corner of the room. In the confusion, the creature lunged at Zilla and tackled him to the bed, screeching in his face. Komi gasped as she saw what was happening.
"Zilla!" She called, reaching out to him. Suddenly, as her hand shout out, she felt a wave energy flow through her. It went from the centre of her chest, specifically her heart, and shot through her arm, ending at her palm. As soon as she felt this, a bright light suddenly appeared in her hand, along with an intense but energizing warmth. She gasped, and the light transformed into a beam of icy blue plasma. It shot out at the creature, knocking it away from Zilla. As soon as it hit the floor, it was clear it wouldn't be moving again. Komi drew her hand back, and the beam disappeared. Both her and Zilla's eyes grew wide as they looked at each other.
"How... what... what was that?" Zilla asked, looking back and forth from Komi to the creature.
"I... I-I don't know." Komi muttered, staring at her hand. "I guess I can do... that now."
"Wait, I think I know what it was!" Zilla said. He shot up from the bed and rushed over to her. "You're the same Kaiju species as Godzilla and me, right?"
"Yeah...?" Komi inquired.
"Right, that makes sense!" Zilla realized. "That's a thing our species can do. Godzilla told me about it. We can harness the radiation in our bodies and condense them into beams of energy. That's how Godzilla can do his atomic blasts, and how I can do my fire powers."
"Oh!" Komi said, nodding. She completely understood now. She looked at her hand and smiled. "Guess it was about time then, huh? I like the colour too."
Zilla chuckled at her statement, but remembered the creature that was now dead in the corner of the room.
"Any idea what that thing was?" He asked. Komi shook her head.
"Nope." She said. "But I feel like I've seen it before. Maybe in a dream or something..."
Before Komi could think on it further, the door burst open, and Godzilla walked in. He was about to say something, until he saw the dead parasite.
"I guess you handled it yourself." He said. Komi and Zilla nodded.
"Did you see one of them too?" Zilla asked.
"Yeah. It attacked Mothra and I killed it." Godzilla said.
"Who's that?" Zilla asked, pointing to the stranger behind him. She appeared to be inspecting the creature, examining it carefully with surgical tools. Godzilla shrugged.
"No idea. But she seems to know about these things, so I'm letting her help us... for now. " He said.
"They're parasites. They spread a deadly toxin if they bite you. And there are more on this island." The stranger said. "I counted five coming here, so there should be three more. And I think I know where they are."
