Chapter 14: Miracle Cure

7:00 PM

The needle entered Rodan's vein, and a green liquid was pumped into him. His other hand was squeezed around Radon's, who was sitting next to him while Crimson administered the cure.
"And that's it." Crimson said, standing back up. He placed the empty needle on the table next to him. "How're you feeling?"
"Not great..." Rodan replied. He had gotten even worse over the past few hours. Now that tue cure was finished, Rodan only had one hour left to live. If this cure didn't work, it was all over. He had been strapped onto a chair, since they don't know what the side effects would be. Radon squeezed his hand tighter. She had been watching him all day, and seen his condition get worse and worse. He had gotten so pale and gaunt. She prayed that the cure would work.
"Anything yet?" She asked.
"...Yeah." Rodan said. "My arm hurts really bad..."
Radon looked up at Crimson. "Is that good?"
"Yes. It means the antidote is fighting off the infection." Crimson replied. He looked at Rodan and grabbed his shoulder. "If my research is correct, it's about to start hurting much worse than that. But you have to hold on. Do you think you can do that?"
Rodan chuckled. "I was completely submerged in lava a while ago. I can handle this." He said.
While this happened, Gypsy looked into Rodan's room through the observation window. He eyed everyone in the room carefully.
"If this works, we'll be one step closer to defeating Clover." He muttered. He turned to Anguirus, who was standing right beside him. "Any word back from Godzilla?"
"Nope. I thought he went back to Monster Island, but nobody back there has seen him." Anguirus explained. Gypsy sighed and looked back to the window.
"I still can't believe he and Gojirin just up and left." He said.
"Gee, I wonder why they'd do something like that." Anguirus said, sarcastically. "Maybe it was because you said you wanted to kill Komi."
"I never said I wanted to kill her." Gypsy snapped back, glaring at him. "I just said she's a Category 6 Kaiju-"
"Yeah, and that you kill Cat 6 Kaiju on sight." Anguirus interrupted. "That kinda sounds like you're gonna kill her."
Gypsy sighed angrily and closed his eyes. "Can we just focus on the cure please?" He growled.
Anguirus scoffed and crossed his arms, looking back at the window. Rodan seemed to be in a lot of pain, but he was handling it well. Crimson monitored his vitals on a screen while Radon held his hand tightly.
"How long is this pain gonna last?" Rodan asked, gritting his teeth.
"No idea." Crimson replied. "But according to these vitals, the cure is working perfectly." He looked over at him and smirked. "Looks like you won't be dying today, Rodan."
Rodan couldn't help but smile at this. And Radon couldn't help but hug him tightly.
"I told you you're gonna be okay." She said.
"Yeah... guess you were right." Rodan was hiding it, but he was absolutely overjoyed. He had a new lease on life, quite literally. For the last day, he thought his life was over. But not anymore. However, he was still in a great amount of pain, but he could handle it. On the other side of the window, Anguirus smiled. He was glad his buddy was gonna be okay. But he was still angry at Gypsy, who had coincidentally left the room.
"Probably going to try and find Godzilla." He thought to himself. He breathed a sigh as he gazed out the window of the medical tent.
"I wonder where they are?" He asked himself.

Godzilla was beginning to lose hope of finding Komi. He and Gojirin had been searching for her for the past few hours. They wanted to find her, at least to warn her of what Gypsy was planning. But they had no idea where to start. She could be anywhere between the Adirondacks and Manhattan. While Godzilla was searching, Gojirin had just received a message.
"Well, here's a little bit of good news." She said. She showed Godzilla the communicator screen, which had a text from Anguirus on it. Rodan's cure was successful. This made Godzilla smile, at least a little.
"That's good to hear." He said. Gojirin could tell this didn't improve his confidence much.
"We'll find her. Don't worry." She assured. But she wasn't quite confident herself. That was, until she heard a voice behind her.
"Or she'll find you." It growled. Gojirin gasped and swivelled around, only to see Komi right before she attacked her. She didn't have enough time to block the attack, but Godzilla was able to push her out of the way. He managed to dodge the attack, and retaliated with one of his own. He didn't have time to pull out his sword, so he had to use hand-to-hand combat. He tried to punch her, but Komi dodged out of the way and struck him in the ribs with her hand. He grunted in pain, but was able to knee her in the side. She fell to the ground and glared up at him.
"Komi, listen to me-" Godzilla tried to say, but Komi swept his leg, knocking him onto his back. She leapt into the air and tried to strike him the ground, but Godzilla rolled out of the way. He got back up, only for Komi to rush him, pinning him to the ground.
"I'm done listening to your lies!" She hissed. She punched him, and Godzilla blocked with his arm. While she was distracted, he kneed her in the stomach and pushed her off of him.
"This isn't a lie!" He asserted. "If you come to Manhattan, you're gonna die!"
"What, you're gonna kill me?" Komi snapped. She attacked him, but Godzilla quickly grabbed her and held her arm behind her back. He shoved her into a tree so she couldn't move.
"No, just listen!" He shouted. "If you stay with Clover, Gypsy's gonna order his men to kill you on sight. As long as you're associated with him, you're considered as big a threat as he is!"
Komi struggled against Godzilla's hold on her. She growled and grunted and pushed against the tree, and Godzilla shoved her back into it.
"Komi, you have to stop this!" He said. "Please, come back with us, and Gypsy won't kill you!"
Komi gritted her teeth and growled, before releasing a scream of pure rage and kicking back at Godzilla's legs. Instantly, he fell back on one knee and let Komi go. She turned around and spin kicked him in the head, sending him to the ground.
"Don't worry about me. Gypsy's not gonna get the chance. I'll kill anyone who stands in our way." She growled. "Including you, 'brother'."
Godzilla slowly got up. All sympathy was gone. As far as we was concerned now, Komi was his enemy. He wiped the blood from his nose and draw his sword.
"Fine. Have it your own way." He growled. He cracked his neck from side to side, and got into a battle stance. Komi laughed wickedly and pulled her sword off her back.
"Then come at me, bro." She hissed.
