"That looks like the last of them." Godzilla said, wiping his brow. Three dead creatures lay at his feet. He and the others just finished fighting the other two. It was difficult, these two were much stronger than the previous ones. But they managed to succeed.
"What even are these things?" Anguirus asked. "Some sort of science experiment?"
"Maybe... hey, didn't that Tagruato rig explode about a months ago?" Rodan asked. "Maybe these guys had something to do with it."
"Could be..." Godzilla nodded. They had received word of a drilling rig owned by the Tagruato company was possibly attacked by a Kaiju a few weeks ago. They had no idea who it was who did it, but this stranger had Godzilla suspicious. Before he could continue thinking about it, Mothra approached him. She had a big smile on her face for some reason. She went up to Godzilla and grabbed his arm.
"Hey, Godzilla, could I grab you for a sec?" She asked.
"Sure, I'll be there in a bit." Godzilla responded, poking one of the creatures with his sword. Mothra started pulling on his arm gently. Whatever she wanted him to see, she very excited to show him.
"No, you need to come see this right now." She insisted. Godzilla rolled his eyes. Sometimes Mothra was like a child with her excitement, but Godzilla didn't mind. He thought it was cute.
"I'll be right back." He told the others. They nodded as they continued to study the creatures. He followed Mothra, who cheerfully lead the way.
"This better be important." Godzilla chuckled.
"It is." Mothra nodded excitedly. Godzilla's brow furrowed in confusion. Why was Mothra so excited? She was practically giddy as she almost skipped down the path to their tent. It must've had something to do with the stranger, he guessed. He was quite eager to find out who she was. Finally, they reached the tent and stepped inside. As Godzilla predicted, the stranger was inside. Only this time, her mask was gone, letting Godzilla see her face for the first time. He stopped as he saw her, the sight of her face surprising him. She seemed oddly familiar, but he couldn't place her in his mind. He looked at Mothra, who stood off to the side, hands behind her back. She signalled for Godzilla to talk to the stranger. Whatever Mothra wanted him to know, it was gonna come from her. Godzilla rolled his eyes and approached her.
"Okay, whatever you're gonna tell me better explain what the hell is going on." He said. "You seemed to know what those parasites were, so start with that."
The stranger said nothing. Instead, she reached behind her neck, and began undoing the clasp on her necklace.
"Didn't you hear me?" Godzilla asked, raising his voice. "I told you to start telling me what the hell these things are doing on my island!"
Again, the stranger kept quiet. Finally, she unclasped the necklace and handed it to Godzilla. It was a locket shaped like a heart. Godzilla raised an eyebrow, and eyed the locket in confusion.
"What are you..." He began. But the stranger interrupted him.
"I know you, Godzilla." She said. "Open the locket. Your past is inside."
Godzilla blinked. The stranger knew his name. This wasn't too much of a surprise, most people knew his name. But the way she said it made it seem like she knew him personally. Not a lot of people did. He decided to do as he was told and opened the locket. His eyes widened as the face of his father looked back at him. The photograph inside showed a younger version of Gojira, his father. Godzilla tried to speak, but no words came out. He looked down the picture, and saw himself as well, but much, much younger. He looked to be about 2 years old. Finally, he saw a woman in the picture. While he didn't recognize her at first, he eventually realized he had seen her before. She was the exact same woman standing right in front of him. Then, the realization hit him like a brick. He gasped sharply as he dropped the locket and looked up. The woman smiled at him and nodded, knowing exactly what he was thinking. Finally, the words escaped his lips.
"...Mom?"
The woman nodded again. But now Godzilla knew her name. She was Gojirin, his mother. His tough exterior fell almost as fast as the sword in his hand hit the floor. He ran to her and hugged her tightly. She reciprocated the hug as a tear ran down her face.
"I missed you, my son." She said.
"Wait... this doesn't make any sense." Godzilla said. "You... you died. Dad told me you died..."
Gojirin released a long sigh. She appeared to know something Godzilla didn't.
"I'll explain in time." She said. "I have... a lot to tell you. But as you've seen, something is coming, and it requires our full attention."
"I... still don't get it." Godzilla said, shaking his head. He eyed the locket again, studying the photo carefully. Mothra came up behind him and looked at it as well. But she saw something that confused her.
"Who's that?" She asked. Godzilla looked up at Mothra, realizing she was behind him.
"Who's who?" He asked. Mothra pointed at a point on the photograph right below Gojira's chin. Someone was hanging onto his back with their arms hugging him from behind. Judging by the length of the arms, they were a child. Godzilla opened the locket and found that the picture was folded, partially hidden behind the locket's frame. He looked up at Gojirin for an answer.
"Why's the picture folded?" He asked.
"There are things I don't like to recall about our family..." Gojirin sighed. "But I suppose you deserve to know the truth. Go on, unfold it."
Godzilla did as he was told, and unravelled the rest of the tiny picture. The person hugging onto Gojira's back was a young girl. She was smiling as wide as the rest of the family. Godzilla's eyes widened as he realized who she was.
"I had a sister?!" He asked. Gojirin chuckled.
"You don't remember?" She asked. "I suppose you were young when... it happened. And your father did like to ignore things that bothered him. He must have told you she didn't exist. But yes, you have a younger sister."
Godzilla blinked and sat down on his bed. This was a lot to take in. Too much, in fact. He didn't remember having any siblings, let alone a sister. As much as he tried, this girl brought up no memories.
"Do you remember her name?" Gojirin asked.
"...No. I don't remember her at all." Godzilla shook his head.
"Well, we'll need to find her soon anyway. She's involved in this too." Gojirin said. "Her name is..."
Suddenly, before she could say any more, the door opened. Komodithrax stuck her head through the door.
"Hey, Godzilla, the Jaegers just called us up. They need help in New York." She said. "What should we do?"
"I'm kinda in the middle of something here." Godzilla said. "Send Rodan and Radon over there for now, I'll deal with it later."
Komi nodded, but her attention turned to Gojirin. "Oh, hello again. I guess we never got to meet in person."
"This is Gojirin. She's Godzilla's mom!" Mothra said, excitedly. She turned to Gojirin. "I'll introduce you. This is-"
"Komodithrax?" Gojirin whispered. Mothra blinked in surprise. Godzilla and Komi were just as startled.
"Uh... yeah. How did you know my name?" She asked. Rather than answering, Gojirin ran  towards her and hugged her tightly.
"I finally found you... after all these years..." Gojirin sobbed.
"Okay, somebody better explain this to me real soon." Komi muttered, darting her eyes back and forth. Needless to say, Godzilla was confused, but the pieces started to come together. He looked at the photo again, eyeing the girl specifically. She had dark brown hair and yellow eyes. He looked at Komi, who had the exact same hair and eye colours. The photo fell from Godzilla's fingers.
"Gojirin, what are you doing?" Mothra asked. Gojirin quickly regained her composure and let go of Komi, backing up to look her in the eyes. Komi was still confused.
"Look, lady, I don't know who you are," She said, "but I'm willing to forgive your tears wrecking my shirt if you tell me how you know my name."
"Of course." Gojirin said, wiping a tear away. "Why would I not know the name of my own daughter?"
Komi froze as her eyes narrowed. "I... I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly."
"You did." Gojirin nodded. "You are Komodithrax, my daughter."
There was no denying it now. Komi looked up at Godzilla. Memories began to flood into both of them. Looking into each other's eyes seemed to connect the two. Komi was Godzilla's sister. This information was too much for her to handle.
"No... no, no, I d-don't have a family... I-I never did..." Komi muttered, shaking her head. Gojirin began to approach her.
"I know this must be a lot for you..." She said, but Komi shoved her away.
"Get the hell away from me!" She shouted. Before anyone could react, she ran away. Mothra gasped and ran to the door.
"Komi, wait!" She said. But she knew there were no words that could console her. She watched at Komi disappeared into the forest and sighed. Gojirin was surprised at Komi's reaction, but not shocked. She had expected something like this.
"I'll go talk to her." She said. But before she could move, Godzilla grabbed her shoulder.
"Mom, no. I'll talk to her." He said. Gojirin nodded reluctantly, and Godzilla exited the tent.
