Hours Later...

The sand around Mothra's feet sprayed out as she ran out to see Godzilla. He and the others had just come back, and now he was helping to pull the boat into the dock. When he saw Mothra running towards him, a smile appeared on his face. He gave the rope he was holding to Gojirin, who was standing behind him. Mothra ran onto the dock and hugged Godzilla tightly. He hugged her back and spun her around. He was very, very happy to see her after the stressful past couple of days. The two kissed and let go of each other. Mothra's smile quickly fell as she saw Gojirin standing behind him. She stepped back and held her hands behind her back.
"Oh... um..." She stammered nervously, blushing intensely. Gojirin chuckled, realizing why she was nervous.
"It's alright, Godzilla told me about you two." She explained.
Mothra breathed a sigh of relief. She walked past Godzilla to approach Gojirin directly. "I heard about what happened with Komi." She said. "I'm so sorry."
"Thank you, Mothra. That means a lot." Gojirin replied, nodding sadly. "It's okay. I'm sure she'll be fine."
"Does Zilla know too?" Godzilla asked. Mothra turned to face him.
"Yeah, I told him after Anguirus told me." Mothra explained. "He took it well. He was more shocked than upset. But when I told him that she snapped out of it, he seemed to feel better."
Godzilla nodded. Meanwhile, Rodan, Radon, and Anguirus were loading some of the supplies they had taken with them back to the island.
"You guys need help with that?" Godzilla asked. Anguirus nodded as he walked past him, carrying a box of food on his shoulder. Godzilla was about to help, but Mothra stopped him, pressing a hand to his chest.
"No, no, I'll do it." She said. "You must be exhausted. I'll fly it to the island in just a second."
"Are you sure?" Godzilla asked. Mothra nodded happily. Before Godzilla could respond, she grabbed some of the supplied and flew into the air. While she was gone, Gojirin nudged Godzilla's shoulder and cleared her throat loudly. Godzilla raised an eyebrow at her and pulled his arm away from her.
"What are you doing?" He asked. Gojirin only motioned to the horizon. The sun was just beginning to rise. Godzilla nodded, but he was still confused.
"Okay, the sunrise is pretty..." He said. "What's your point?" Gojirin smirked at him.
"The sun is rising." She said. "You just vanquished another threat. Mothra's happy you're home safe. It's quite the perfect moment, wouldn't you say?"
Godzilla raised his eyebrows, realizing what she meant. His heart began to pound and he took in a deep breath. He was suddenly filled with confidence. This time, he was gonna do it.
"You're right, it is a perfect moment." He smirked back at Gojirin.
"Then go get her." Gojirin winked. Godzilla breathed in deep one more time and turned back around. He saw Mothra on the edge of the beach, walking back to the dock. Godzilla met her half way.
"Hey, Mothra, I wanted to talk to you." Godzilla said. She looked up at him quizzically.
"Sure. What's up?" She asked. Godzilla took in one more deep breath and exhaled heavily. He looked back to the dock, where Gojirin motioned for him to go on. He turned back to Mothra.
"So... we've been together for about about two years now, right?" He asked. Mothra thought for a moment, measuring the time in her head. He was right, it was a little over two years since they started dating. She remembered confessing to her love to him as she died, and Godzilla reciprocating the feelings after she came back to life.
"Yeah, that sounds about right..." She nodded. She still wasn't quite sure where he was going with this, so she was somewhat surprised when he gently grasped her hands with his own.
"In those two years, you've made me happier than I've even been before." Godzilla continued. "Through everything, you've stood by me. Wether it's our own problems, an attack from Ghidorah, or some other disturbance, you're always the one I turn to when I lack hope."
Mothra smiled at this. She'd never heard him talk like this before. He was always romantic, sure,  but he had never had this level of sincerity in his voice. It was almost poetic.
"Aw, that's so sweet!" She said. "You've made me just as happy, Godzilla."
"That's good to hear." Godzilla said, smiling back at her. His smile fell quickly. He wanted to be completely serious with this. "Mothra... I'm about to ask you something. Something important. And I want you to answer 100% honestly. Alright?"
Mothra was still confused, but she silently gasped as an idea popped into her mind. She had a good idea of what Godzilla was about to ask her, but she wasn't sure yet.
"There's no way he's about to ask me... that... is he?" She thought. She was so caught up in her own mind that she almost didn't notice Godzilla crouch down on one knee in front of her. When she realized what was happening, she knew her suspicions were confirmed. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth as she gasped even louder. Tears of joy were already starting to form.
"Oh my god..." She whispered.
"Mothra..." Godzilla began. "You've always been my princess. And now I'm asking you to be my queen." He took a small black box out of his pocket and opened it, holding it up to her. Inside was Gojirin's ring. It glistened in the light from the rising sun. Mothra let her tears flow. And finally, Godzilla said the words both of them had been waiting for him to say for a long, long time.
"Mothra, my love, will you marry me?"
He didn't have to hear Mothra respond. She hugged him tightly, crying into his shoulder. In her sobs, she couldn't stop herself from saying "yes" over and over and over again. But she didn't want to. She wanted Godzilla to know exactly how she felt. After a while, she pulled back, placing a hand on Godzilla's cheek, and looked him in the eye.
"Yes..." She said one more time, streams of tears running down her smiling face. "Yes, I will marry you, Godzilla."
They both suddenly heard clapping. As they looked up, they could see all of Monster Island applauding and cheering for them. It looked like Gojirin had gathered everyone to congratulate them. Rodan, Anguirus, Muto, Baragon, Leo, even Battra had the shadow of a smile on his face while he applauded his sister. The cheering only continued as Godzilla stood up and placed the ring onto Mothra's hand. It fit perfectly. Mothra had never been happier in her life. Godzilla held her close and kissed her deeply. Mothra wrapped her arms around him, bringing him even closer to her. She never wanted to leave him ever again. But the clapping came to a sudden stop. Godzilla and Mothra both opened their eyes, and broke their kiss shortly after. They looked back to the crowd, only to see them staring at something else. They seemed confused. This in turn confused Godzilla and Mothra.
"Hey guys, look who's back!" A voice said. It was Zilla. They turned to face Zilla, and found someone next to him. To their surprise, it was Komi.
"Hey everyone." She said, with a smile.
"Komi!" Godzilla said. He and Mothra made their way over to her. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the Shatterdome?"
"Well, my 'processing' went a little faster than they thought it would." Komi explained. "So they let me out early. You can thank Gypsy for that."
"Of course." Godzilla muttered, a smirk on his face. Komi seemed confused though. Her smile fell as she saw everyone crowding around them.
"So... what's everybody standing around for?" She looked around at her friends, until her eyes landed on Gojirin. She had a look of smug excitement on her face. She raised her hand and pointed to her own ring finger. Komi quickly realized what this meant, and gasped.
"Wait, did you..." She asked, pointing at Godzilla.
"Yup." He said, pulling Mothra in closer.
"And did you..." She asked, pointing at Mothra now. She just nodded happily, showing off the ring.
"And I missed it?!" Komi said. While she groaned, Zilla seemed fixated on something else.
"So... I guess this means Godzilla and I really are are gonna be in-laws now?" He asked.
"I guess it does." Godzilla chuckled.
Despite the awkwardness, everyone was still excited for the happy couple. Godzilla and Mothra were practically glowing with their excitement and love for each other. As the sun rose on Monster Island, a new day was rising on their relationship. Things were going to be very different from now on. But this change was definitely for the better.
