A groan escaped Komi's lips as she woke up. Her eyes fluttered open, and her vision adjusted to the bright fluorescent light and white room around her. She blinked a few times, and eventually everything came into view. The memories of the past few hours came back to her. She remembered fighting Godzilla, and she remembered Gojirin knocking her out. This memory only made her hatred of her mother grow.
"Some mother..." She growled. She tried to move, but found she was restricted by something. Her arms were stuck behind her, and she couldn't move up from a kneeling position at most. She looked down to see what was restricting her, only to see the rope Gojirin had tied her up with. She growled in frustration as she looked around for something to set her free. But there was nothing in the room with her, aside from a small hospital bed. She could also see two figures standing outside the door to the room. They both had guns. Komi didn't know much about guns, but she guessed they were some kind of semi-automatic rifle. If she tried to escape, they would most likely shoot to kill. But she wasn't worried. A grin spread across her face. She could feel the earth below her. And Clover's children were traveling towards her, under the ground. It was only a matter of time now. All Komi had to do was wait. And she had a feeling she wouldn't have to wait much longer.Back in the headquarters, the others were formulating a plan of attack. Gojirin stood facing the others, with a screen behind her. On it were pictures of Clover and the parasites, as well as a map showing Clover's last known locations.
"Alright, so here's what we know." Gojirin began. "Clover sent Komi here, along with an army of his parasites. We brought Komi here ourselves, but the parasites are still on their way."
"What I don't understand is, why didn't he come here himself?" Gypsy asked, placing a hand on his chin.
"My guess is he knew he'd be outnumbered." Godzilla said. "He needed a 'general' of sorts to lead his army while he stayed safe."
"But that doesn't make any sense." Rodan said. "With all his parasites, he outnumbers us."
"He probably figured we'd go for him first and ignore the parasites if he showed himself." Anguirus suggested.
"And my guess is if we kill Clover, the parasites will all drop dead too." Godzilla added. The others nodded in agreement. There wasn't a lot of other explanation for why Cover wasn't showing himself.
"Alright, so that's our play." Gypsy said. "We'll split into teams. I'll lead the team trying to find Clover, and Godzilla, you'll lead the team fighting back the parasites in the city."
Godzilla nodded. "We'll need some people guarding Komi too." He said. "I don't want anyone getting to her."
"Should I call Mothra down here?" Anguirus asked, holding up his phone. "We might need her on this mission."
Godzilla thought about it for a while. Mothra would be useful in the situation. But he began thinking about the last adventure they had gone on. He, Mothra, and Anguirus had ventured to a parallel world filled with monsters and demons. They escaped, but it took a toll on all three if them, especially Mothra. The experiences she went through had made her PTSD even worse, and Godzilla had noticed. After thinking it over, he shook his head.
"No, I don't want her involved." He said. "She's been through a lot recently, and I don't want to add anything to her plate. She needs some time to herself." He turned to Rodan. "That goes for you too. If you're not feeling up to it, you can sit this one out."
"Nah, I think I owe Clover a little payback for almost killing me." He smirked, cracking his knuckles. Godzilla couldn't help but chuckle at this.
"Alright then, I'll let Gypsy decide the teams." He said. "In the meantime, we should send out something so we can find Clover's location."
"Already on it." Coyote replied. He typed something into his wrist-mounted computer, and the views of various cameras appeared on the screen, all showing the Adirondack park, and its surrounding area. "Just sent out a team of camera drones to his last known location. If he moves, we'll find him."
Godzilla smiled and nodded. For the first time since he arrived in New York, he felt hopeful. While Gypsy decided the teams, a soldier suddenly burst into the room.
"Gypsy Danger!" He called, saluting the Jaeger commander.
"What is it, soldier?" Gypsy asked.
"We just spotted a wave of parasites approaching the facility, sir!" The soldier reported. "We're holding them off as best we can, but we could use some help out there."
"Of course. Good work, we'll be out there in a moment." Gypsy replied. The soldier saluted again and ran back out, holding his gun up. Gypsy turned back to the others.
"Forget the teams. We need everyone out there now. We'll find Clover later." He said, ejecting his sword from his gauntlet. He had made some adjustments to it since the last time he used it. Now, as soon as the sword formed, the sides glowed bright red. It could heat up to slice through things easier. Everyone else drew their own weapons and ran out the door. Except Godzilla, who Gypsy grabbed by the shoulder.
"When we're finished with the parasites, we'll talk about sending Komi to the Shatterdome." He said. Godzilla was relieved to hear Gypsy had agreed to his plan, and nodded in approval, before the two sped out the door and into the fight.
