We start to walk down the long hall and I can't help but think of the look on her face when I was talking to Adam.
"What's up with you and Adam, if you don't mind me asking." Her face immediately heats up and she has a look on her face that I can't describe. Maybe nervousness and... Longing? I couldn't tell you because the expression is gone just as fast as it came and she puts on a look of confusion. But you could still see the blush.
"What do you mean?" So she wants to play dumb? Okay.
"Don't act stupid. I saw that look on your face when I was talking to him. But if you want to act dumb, I'll treat you like your dumb."
"Fine. Adam's my best friend and..." She trails off with a look of nervousness on her face.
"And?" I push. I don't want to pry, but if she likes him as more than a friend, I don't want to say or do the wrong thing and make her uncomfortable. Adam's not my type or anything, but I don't want her take anything I say the wrong way.
"And I might have a few tiny little feelings for him." She whispers. I called it.
"Ok. Why haven't you told him yet?"
"We have been best friends since we were five. I can't just tell him, I have feelings for him. What if he doesn't like me back and I ruin our whole friendship? Plus, he's a total womanizer! He's a male slut! I can't just-"
"Just stop." I cut her off. "I was reading this book trilogy on Wattpad, and this guy named Chase had a crush on his best friend, Charlotte, but he never told her. One day he walked into Char's room to see her about to get it on with their mutual friend and he punched the guy. He then admitted his feelings because he can't just punch a guy with no reasons behind it. And guess what Char did?" I ask.
"She told his she loved him to and they lived happily ever after?" She guessed with a nervous and hopeful look on her face.
"Nope. She turned him down and completely broke his heart." I said with a deadpan look.
"How the fuck is that supposed to make me feel better about admitting my feelings?!" She yelled with a saddened expression.
"Because, it was later revealed that Char did have feelings for him in the past, but since he didn't tell her about his feelings sooner, she moved on."
"Did they become friends again?"
"Yes, but it wasn't like it used to be."
"Oh." She said. She had a hopeless look in her eyes.
"What I'm trying to say is, if you don't tell him about your feelings you may destroy your friendship anyways. Chase was so worried about their friendship never being the same once he told her that he didn't realize that he did that anyway by keeping it from her. Even if you tell Adam that you like him and he doesn't reciprocate those feelings, you will at least be able to have closure and move on. You can't move thinking about all of the what if's. Like, what if you told him about your feelings? And if he does like you back, you guys can live happily ever after." I tell her. "So stop being a coward and tell him already." I say with a smile on my face.
"Thank you for telling me your opinion. It means a lot. Especially, when everyone else acts like if they tell me their opinion, I'll punch them in the face." She laughs.
"I'll keep your feelings a secret until you're ready to admit them."
"Thank you." She hugs me. I hug her back tightly.
After a while, we break away from the hug and I realize that we stopped in front of a door.
"Here we are." Sam says and opens the door.
