𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝟐

stargazing

It was almost cliche. Here we were, laying in the grass of my backyard, eyes facing the sky, fingers laced together.

I didn't know what time it was, we'd been laying out here for awhile already, just staring at the stars and talking about life. He had gone quiet a couple moments ago and I thought he might've been asleep.

"Shawn?" I whispered.

"Yeah?" He replied.

Both of voices barley audible as if we we're sharing secrets. In some way, we kind of were.

"Do you ever think about if there's anyone else out there?" I asked him.

He chuckled softly. "Yeah, I do." He paused for a moment before continuing, this time, a bit quieter. "I don't want to be the only ones out there."

I smiled. "I don't either."

The silence fell again. It was quiet for a few minutes, neither of us saying anything. I could hear his breathing, soft and even. It relaxed me.

I broke the silence. "It's crazy to think how small we are."

He didn't reply immediately, like he was gathering his thoughts.

"What's really crazy, is how in the entire universe, all the planets and stars, how big everything is. And in one galaxy, in one solar system, and on one planet, there's you and I. And I think about my love for you, and how the universe has never seen something that big."

I didn't even know how to reply. A smile spread across my face before I rolled onto my side so I could face Shawn. He was already staring at me.

"I love you, Shawn Mendes."

"I love you too." He said.

He wrapped his arm around my body and pulled me closer to him. He was warm, and it felt nice, so I snuggled against him. He laid a small kiss on my forehead causing me to look up at him. He took this as an opportunity to press his lips against mine.

We stayed like that for a bit longer. Holding each other, underneath the stars, whispering "I love you's," back and forth.

I hope you guys enjoyed this very cute imagine. The idea popped into my head like 10 minutes ago and I just started writing.

I hope everyone's enjoyed their summer as it's coming to an end soon. I wish I had written some summery imagines but that's okay because fall is indeed my favorite season so it should be a good one.
