"...Out with the old, in with the new..."

Our five-day stay in Greece was fun. The view, the people, the sea—everything was perfect. We safely arrived in NAIA and I felt relaxed and happy. We bid our goodbyes and gave our sweet talks before I hopped inside my van. I know this might sound dramatic, but it wouldn't be fun without my friends. I know that we would be focusing on each other's lives after this trip, but I hope nothing would change and we would still hang out from time to time.

After a 30-minute drive, I finally arrived back home. I stepped out of my van with a big smile plastered across my face. Gosh, I missed home. I wonder what my mom's doing right now. I placed my things near the stairs and called her out.

"Mom?" No one answered me. I heard someone humming from the kitchen so I thought of going there and there she was, cooking our meal. I slowly walked towards her and hug her from behind.

"Oh, you're here! Kamusta naman bakasyon mo? Did you have fun?" She asked and faced me. I sat on the available counter and told her what had happened to my trip.

"That's good to hear." She said and turned off the stove. "We should go there together. Hmm? What do you think?" She added and smile genuinely.

"Yeah. We really should go there. Definitely, a perfect place to visit with a perfect mom like you." I winked at her. She laughed and served our meal. We ate in silence and talked after. I placed my plate on the sink and decided to go upstairs to unpack all of the stuff I used from the trip.

Mom made some snacks and called me out of my room. Now, it's just me and my mom and I'm not complaining though. She is a great company since I was a kid. I love her presence especially when she is not stressed from me or from work. Being an only child, she became my best friend, fan, mentor and sister on all things. Besides, I missed her stories about her company due to me being in Greece for almost a week.

I snapped back to reality when she spoke.

"By the way, you should go to my office on Wednesday. We'll discuss something." She looked at me intently. What did I do now?

"Why? Let's discuss it here na po." I offered but she shook her head.

"There na lang. Business matter kasi. Ayokong dinadala work ko in our convo here at home." She said and smiled. Why did I feel nervous all of a sudden? Oh well, I'll just hope for the best.
