Aurora sipped her coffee, gazing at the busy streets of Manchester. The last week had been so boring and she was glad to be home, if only for the day.
Angelina was sitting opposite, shopping bags littering the floor around them.
What’s the point of such a big wardrobe other than that you can buy more clothes?
Aurora had been on house arrest the past week, doctor and Nathanial's orders.
She spent most of it in bed, with very little to do. She had none of her clothes or possessions, and she was very lonely.
Nathanial gave her the silence treatment for about three days after the whole 'wrap it up' comment but even so she still adamantly ignored him.
Isabella and Sarah were pretty much her only source of company. She’d successfully hooked Isabella onto PLL, and had used Sarah’s number many times.
But Sarah was actually working, and Isabella was on summer holidays, so she was rarely at home.
Needless to say, Aurora seriously missed the chaos of her home.
The house was gigantic, and Aurora spent many hours lost, but she had explored upstairs. There was a huge cinema room, complete with ice cream and popcorn, there was a bar and lounge, and a gigantic arcade room, filled with millions of games. She couldn’t wait to show Angelo.
‘Ughh... Are you sure you can’t stay for longer? I’m now outnumbered by boys!’ Angelina sighed, looking at Aurora desperately.
Aurora laughed. ‘I would love to, truly, it’s hell in London. But there is a big BBQ tomorrow at the Morettis, and I have to go.’
‘You were invited to the Morettis?’ Angelina was shocked to say the least.
'No. My husband was. Besides, it will be fine. I’ll just stick to Grammy.’
‘Wow. A 19 year old goes to a party and hangs out with her grandmother. But do send my love.’
'Has Mum spoken to her recently?'
'Not since the wedding. Grammy said she would never speak to Mum again if we went through with it.’
'See, you might be Dad's favourite but I’m Grammy's.’
'Only because every time there was a minor inconvenience you packed your bags and ran away to her house.’
'Yeh, but have you tried her bangers and mash?’
Angeline shook her head, laughing.
Aurora paid for their coffees as Angelina called their driver.
🖤
Arriving back at home, Aurora’s heart nearly burst seeing her family.
They all helped her pack her belongings, filling an embarrassing amount of suitcases. Sounds of laughter filled the house, and for a glorious amount of time, Aurora forgot all her troubles.
Too soon, her bags were packed, her room now empty and bare.
Walking around it, Aurora’s heart felt heavy.
That was her room. For 19 years. All the memories surrounding it, bad and good, Aurora found herself not wanting to leave.
To go back to the naive girl who painted her walls, the innocent girl who lost her innocence in that room.
She wanted to go back. She had changed, and she didn’t like who she had become.
Who she was becoming.
