Oh darling, did you forget?
The devil was once an angel too.
Forced to marry the most dangerous man in England, Aurora wasn't optimistic about her future. But when the enemies drew closer and her past pulled her in, the devil stood by her through th...
Aurora's hand was tight around the gun as she stood behind Nathanial in the elevator, the tension even thicker than her mascara.
Reaching the bottom floor, the huge reception was filled with millions of men in black suits, guns clearly on display. Aurora took a deep breath, the walls closing in, the people getting too close for comfort, before sliding her arm through Nathanial's and clinging on to him.
'Give me the gun, Rors,' Nathan gently prised the gun out of her clenched hand, stuffing it into his hands. 'You good?'
Aurora nodded, pushing Nathan out of the lift.
She pulled her loose coat further up her shoulders, her heels clicking on the marble floor as they walked through the hall.

Mateo walked up to the pair, talking through an intercom in his ear.
'We've caught five of them, we reckon two or three got away. It's safe.'
'Who the hell are they?'
'No idea. But... They're italian.'
Nathanial's jaw tightened as he held the front door open for Aurora to step outside. 'And how did they get inside?'
'We found Marie unconscious in the bathroom. The estate agent was dead in her car.'
'Find out who let them in, find out how the fuck they got into MY building and tried to kill me and my wife and kill anyone involved.'
They were crossing the road towards the other building. Aurora's hair flung itself around her face, her hand being roughly pulled by Nathan.
🖤
The building was chaos. Aurora and Nathan walked in with men crowding behind them. 'They're on the 26th floor,' a man standing by the lift says, hundreds of guns strapped to his chest. Nathan nods, standing in the lift. Aurora stands uncomfortably, awkwardly leaning into Nathan as men rush in to the lift with them.
'Keep your voice steady,' Nathan was muttering in Aurora's ear, 'don't talk if you can't. Keep your face void of emotion, if they talk to you, ignore them and don't ever leave my side.' Aurora nodded her head, leaning it against his shoulder.
In the middle of the room, five people were slumped together, tied to chairs. The blinds were still closed, the office looking huge and empty, drearily dark due to no daylight. Stepping out, Nathanial stepped over the body of the sniper, holding his hand for Aurora to step over. Inspecting the bullet wound through the man's head, he looked surprised, 'Good aim.'
Staring at the pool of blood, Aurora couldn't bring herself to feel pride.
Sitting down, on a stool opposite the men, Aurora felt self-conscious. The five men were beaten up, but all of their eyes were trained on her. Nathanial stood behind her, talking to someone about clearing up and something about transport.
