I wake up in hot sweats and rapid breathing I sit up straight away "what the hell just happened" was that a dream because it sure as hell didn't feel like one, I rub my hands over my arms and legs to see if there are any bugs thank his there's nothing, I push my hands over my hair pushing the small bite of hair shorter than the rest which usually covers my eye. I can see a light shining through the window, I get out of the bed and look out the window I can see the maze, it's so big I can see all the plants on the walls but I can't see a end, I hear the door open I turn and see Newt "Your alive" I'm frozen "what?" he says and I know it's real but I put my hands behind my back and slightly punch my arm and it's not a dream. "I had a bad dream last night, well a few bad dreams" "and I'm guessing I was in one" "Ye" "and I died" "ye" "well I would love to hear how I died" he says with a slight smile which I give back "but we have a gathering in a few minutes, so hear are some clean clothes and once your ready you can meet me downstairs I'll be just outside the door okay?" "got it" "good" with that he leaves and shuts the door behind him. I get changed out of my pants that showed my ankles and my t shirt that had rips in it, I change into a pair of pants that cover all my legs and a long sleeve t shirt, I roll up the sleeves and push my hair behind my ears and walk downstairs. I see Newt just outside the entrance "so today is the gathering" "Ye, I know, so I'm guessing I just half to sit there and keep my mouth shut" "pretty much, come on its starting soon" Newt and I walk towards a building and I can already hear all the people talking, I'm really nervous I have no idea what's gonna happen.
Once I walk in behind Newt the room goes silent, everybody turns towards me. I sit down in a chair and Newt goes over and stands next to a boy with black hair and pale skin. The silence continues until Alby speaks "So we are here today, because as we all are aware we got a girl from inside the maze which we haven't had before, so we decided to have this gathering to decide what to do with her" "I think she should be sent back to the maze" of course it's Gally "that's not fair" I turn and see that it's the boy standing next to Newt "ow and how is that Thomas?" asks Gally "why would you send her back to the maze, last time I checked she didn't brake any of the rules" "ye but for all we know she could be dangerous, I mean she came from the maze" everybody starts talking to each other, which scares me "guys quiet down" I hear Alby say "we're not gonna send her into the maze, yes Thomas is right she hasn't broken any rules to get banished, but Gally does have a point she could be dangerous, does anyone else of something to add" "I think we should keep her" I look over and see a girl saying that, thank god I'm not the only one "I think that she would be helpful" "thats a good point Teresa anyone else?" "I think that this girl should get at least some punishment at least one night in the slammer" says one of the gladers "why, she hasn't done anything" says another and the next thing I know everyone's yelling because of me. "owe shut it all of ya" shouts a boy with black hair and tanned skin and I can see he's dressed as a runner "now are we gonna decide what to do with her or keep acting like a bunch of shanks" "thank you Minho" says Alby "Now anyone else? Newt you've been quiet" Newt looks at me "well, I agree that she could be dangerous but we don't know so I think that we should let her stay" "of course you want her to stay" shouts Gally "the only reason you want her to stay is cause you like her" "hey I gave a valid point like everyone else shank, the reason why you want her to leave is because she bloody had a go at you" I hear everybody say owwww, which I try not to laugh. "Okay calm down first we aren't having any bloody lovers in here okay, now who have some good reasons now can I have the leaders over so we can make our decision. I see Gally walk over, crap he's the a leader, I also see Minho go over. A couple of guys go to talk to Newt, I think it wouldn't be a good idea for me to talk to him now, to my surprise Teresa comes over to me "hey, I'm Teresa" "Nicole, and thanks for saying to keep me here" "hey no problem, I was once in your position to" "really?" "Ye, see I was the first girl here they were people that wanted to banish me" before I could say anything they leaders walked in and Alby spoke "we have made our decision"
