"I really can't believe you just asked one of the most famous and hottest actors out! Without even giving him your number or anything. Gotta say, Mel, that's fucking bold," said Shannon who was sitting across from me at our dinner table.

"I'm with Shannon on this one," agreed Bryan. I just rolled my eyes. I still couldn't even believe it myself. I mean c'mon Chris Evans would never go out with a girl like me. He's a grown man that has his life together and is FAMOUS! Meanwhile, I'm here in a cramped apartment with my two best friends and still in school! How the hell would that even work...

"Melissa? Melissa?? MELISSA!??" Shannon yelled snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What?" I asked not wanting to look her in the eyes.

"Hey...look I know what you're thinking. 'Ahhh he's a famous actor what have I done?!' But Bryan and I heard what he said when you were walking towards us. You have a chance man! So stop getting in your big head and start planning what you're going to wear!!" Shannon got up from the table and came over to drag me into my room with Bryan following us.

After two hours of literally throwing all my clothes onto my small bed, Shannon finally found the perfect outfit. It was a beige oversized button-down and some high waisted jeans with a brown belt. "Shannon... this may not even happen," I said looking at her seriously.

"But it MAY happen! There's a chance Melissa! Don't argue with me come on! Now for your hair. Wear it in a semi messy ponytail, you know like Hailey Baldwin...or Beiber whatever you get me,"

"Yea I get you...and I'm assuming a natural look right?"

"Duh!" I just rolled my eyes and looked at the outfit.

I really do hope Chris comes...

"ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR DATE!?" yelled out Bryan from the couch. I tugged on my ponytail trying to tighten it. I smiled at him but just looked down. Shannon was out editing at the studio, she said that Bryan and I don't let her concentrate.

"Melissa come on. You took a chance and honestly the worst thing that can happen is that he doesn't show up," he had a point. I nodded and walked by him. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a tight hug. "Don't worry bestie...we love you" he whispered.

I walked out the door feeling really anxious. I started walking up the little hill towards the coffee shop that I told Chris about. I was 10 minutes early and began looking for an open seat.

I waited and waited and waited...when I checked the time it was already going to be 5. I sighed and stood up from my seat. I texted Bryan and Shannon a sad emoji. I threw away my coffee cup on my way out and began walking home. How can I be so fucking stupid I mean... he's Chris fucking Evans Melissa grow up! I was lost in my head that I didn't realize that someone was calling my name until they reached my hand. I panicked and tried to get my hand free.

"Hey, hey calm down! It's me," he said.

"Chris?" I asked calming down.

"Sorry I was late...I've been trying to get out of meetings and I don't have your number. I'm sorry," he said guiltily

"I-I uh. It's ok," was all I could say.

"Hmm. Doesn't seem like it's ok. I made you wait like an hour. Let me make it up to you. How does dinner sound? I know a small place around here," he suggested. I looked at my phone to see the time. 50 unread messages from Shannon and Bryan. "If you can't it's alright but I gotta make it up to you," I looked up from my phone and smiled.

"Dinner sounds nice," I said putting my phone away and setting it on 'Do not disturb'

We walked down the busy street towards this restaurant that Chris suggested. He had his head down even though I thought it made him seem more suspicious.

"You know, we could just get take out and eat at a park? Sure it's not-" he cut me off.

"You know what? That sounds great!"

"Good. Because I don't think your neck could last much longer if you keep walking like that," I laughed. He laughed too and it was the kind of laugh that was contagious, which made me laugh even harder. "So, tell me about your day,". He started talking about how it was filled with back to back meetings and photo shoots for the new Avengers movie. He continued when we reached my favourite Chinese restaurant. I was gonna open the door when he beat me to it. I rolled my eyes and said thanks and walked in. Luckily, there wasn't a lot of people and I heard Chris sigh in relief.

"So is this the secret place to be when I want some Chinese?" he asked taking his hat off but leaving his glasses on.

"Hell yeah, it is," I said smiling up at him. He looked down and smiled. I felt my heart beat faster when I stared into his blue eyes. Omg Melissa get a hold of yourself! I quickly looked away and blushed. He chuckled.

I went up to order my favourites from Anna's: chow mein, pad thai, mushroom and chicken and her famous fried rice

"Ok, that'll be $35.78," she said. As I was reaching for my wallet Chris took my hand.

"What are you doing?" I asked confused.

"Paying," he said already giving Anna his card. "Remember? I made you wait...God just saying it out loud makes me want to dig a hole," he said holding the root of his nose.

"Thank you," Anna said. When he turned to go sit Anna gave me two thumbs up and winked. I smiled at her shaking my head and followed Chris.

"So, how did I convince you to hang out with me?" I asked dying to know. Chris looked up from his phone and smiled.

"You know...what you did... not taking a picture because you assumed that I was tired? You're the first person to ever do that...and thankfully you did because a mob of fans were looking for me," he said honestly. So that explains the sudden wave of people! He continued snapping me out of my thoughts, "That and you seemed like an interesting and beautiful person," he said smirking. I began blushing like crazy but luckily before I could respond Anna came and brought us our food.

"You take good care of her ok?" she said staring Chris right through his sunglasses before letting go of the bag.

"Anna!" I grunted while Chris laughed and nodded his head.

"Don't worry ma'am she's in good hands. I promise," he said smiling

We thanked Anna and walked out. Chris put on his baseball hat and followed me. We began talking and when we reached a local park, we sat at a bench under a lamp post.

"Ugh finally!" I grunted putting all the small take out boxes in between him and I. He laughed and put his right hand over his chest. I looked up and smiled, "Hey! I'm starving! All I had today was a small lunch and coffee!" I said smacking his thick arm.

"Haha ok, ok let's dig in," he said looking at the food. "So, Mel, tell me about yourself," he said already taking a bite of his food. I gave him a small smile and began.

"Hmm let's see. I'm the middle child, older brother, and a younger sister. I'm studying human biology at UCLA to become a doctor. I graduate next year and I live with my two best friends," I said pausing to take another bite of my food.

"Go on," he said with a mouth full of food. I laughed and continued.

"I mean there's really not much about me to say haha. I love dogs, uhm I'm a 'surfing legend' to my friends, I don't know. I'm just me," I said honestly.

"Wait, wait. Surfing legend!? Well now you're gonna have to teach me!" I laughed and just looked at him.

We finished all our food and began picking the empty cartons when suddenly we heard clicking noises. I gave Chris a puzzled look and he just sighed.

"Mel... I think the paparazzi found me..." he said. I began panicking when he suddenly grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Don't panic just..." he trailed off and took his hat off. He placed it on my head and asked, "Ready?" I gave him another puzzled look when I began hearing a wave of footsteps and clicking sounds from cameras. That's when Chris began walking really fast and still holding my hand.

"I know how to lose them. Follow me," I said determinedly.
