Bryan

I couldn't believe that Shanon convinced Melissa into thinking that Matt had to do anything with her accident. I mean how fucking ridiculous is that?! Instead of making her feel any better, Shanon goes on and fills Melissa's head with lies and a crazy conspiracy? Seriously?

"Hey man, you ok?"

"Yea I'm good. How are you today?" I asked Matt. I went over to his apartment to see how he was doing.

"I'm good as I can be," he shrugged.

"I still don't understand why you're refusing to go to a hospital. Like dude come on, accept the help you so desperately need," I tell him seriously.

"Dude, we've been over this. One, I don't have health insurance and two, I don't want to ask my parents for help,"

"Which I don't get! Your parents are more than capable to pay for the expenses!"

"Ok, you know what?! Fine! I can't drive myself to Utah and my roommate sure as hell won't do it for me, so who am I supposed to ask-" I rolled my eyes and interrupted him.

"Bro come on. I'll be more than willing," I informed him. After packing a few things for him and getting all the documents they may ask when we get there, I made a quick stop to my apartment. "I'll be back in a sec" and sprinted upstairs.

"Where do you think you're going?" she asked. I didn't respond. "Bryan! Stop with the silent treatment! We've been friends so almost 8 fucking years and you choose and fucking psychopath over us!" this is where I had enough.

"Get out of my fucking face Shanon! You don't get to tell me what or not to do. You're not my fucking parent!" I yelled at her. I could see the tears forming in her eyes. Fuck.

"Just let me know where you're going...just in case something happens," she whispered.

"Utah," I said sternly. I didn't want to fall for her guilt trip. Not today. I have Matt waiting in the car and if he waits any longer, he'll start to wonder what's going on and potentially back out. I picked up my duffle bag and left the apartment without saying anything else.

"Yo what took you so long?" he tried joking when I finally got back to the car.

"Nothing. Sorry about the wait," I tried to shake the feeling off but he saw right through me.

"Come on, what happened?" I didn't want tot reply. I knew if I told him the truth he would want to back out of our deal or feel guilty so I lied.

"Man, Shan's just bitching about the chores," I shrugged switching the gear into drive. It was a 9-hour drive to Salt Lake City. I don't think we can make any stops, unless it's for gas.

"Dude! Seriously?! Is she on her period or something!" he started laughing. I forced a smile, I know girls get really offended when guys joke about that. I've learned the hard way, so hearing him die of laughter made me pretty upset.

The drive wasn't all that bad. Before getting on the highway I filled up my tank and made sure everything was fine for the long trip. We only had to stop once and that was for gas and the restroom. I had to help Matt on basically everything, which made me think why he's waited so long to get treated to the point where my conscience started wondering if what Shan and Mel were saying was true...no stop it! Come on Bryan don't be stupid. After helping Matt in, we were off. Only three more hours until we reach Utah. "Hey, have you told your parents we're on our way?" I asked.

"Sure did. And let me just say they are not happy,"

"I mean dude come on, what did you expect? You've waited months to seek any type of treatment other than over the counter drugs!"
