"Come onnnnnnnnn, (Y/n)! You're taking too long!" The twelve-year-old blonde groaned, hitting his forehead against the closed door.
"Just give me another minute or so! Jeez!" his (h/c) friend responded, hitting her fist against the door herself.
"I already gave you... like, 17! Come on!"
"It's been only 3 and a half! Give me 1 and a half more minutes! Time me!"
"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
The blonde crossed his arms, shifting most of his weight onto his left leg. "One. Two. Three. Four."
Link had invited his best friend (Y/n) to go to the shore with him. He didn't enjoy being alone, and his friend was more than happy to get out of the house.
But she was taking so looooooooooooong.
"Seventy two. Seventy three. Seventy four."
Link saw her shadow move in front of the door.
"Eighty three. Eighty four. Eighty five. Eighty six. Eighty seven."
A loud crash sounded from behind the door.
"Ninety. (Y/nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn)! I'm breaking this door down!"
Surprisingly, it was unlocked, so he easily just opened the door and blinked at what he saw.
(Y/n) stood with her back to him, wearing her (f/c) one piece swimsuit. And in front of her, in thousands of pieces, was the clay pot she spent the past 5 months making with her own hands.
Her shock kept her from moving.
"How'd you do that?" Link exclaimed, rushing to her side.
(Y/n) kept the (f/c) and (2f/c) pot in an alcove barely big enough for it above her night stand. One could not brush past it and knock it over.
"I dropped it," she breathed, her voice cracking.
He looked to her, seeing the tears welling in her eyes.
With no small amount of confusion, he awkwardly wrapped his arm around her shoulders, her left arm slipping around his middle.
(Y/n) was not one to be clumsy. She was very careful with literally everything she held.
How could she have dropped it?
Link noticed the blood on her right hand as she reached up to brush away the tears that had begun to fall.
"(Y/n)! You're hurt!"
Her bleary (e/c) eyes struggled to focus on the open cut running across her (s/c) palm.
"That's why I dropped it. That's also why I asked for more time."
Her voice caused Link to feel her pain.
"Why were you even holding it with a hurt hand?"
She smeared crimson liquid on her face as wiped the salty tears off her cheeks. "I couldn't help but admire it. It was the only thing that I have ever made that didn't look like absolute crap."
Link tried to wipe off the blood and the additional tears that were falling.
"I beg your pardon, (Y/n), but everything you've made have been really good."
She let out a strained chuckle, a pained smile on her face. "In comparison to yours or for real?"
Link felt his face go red. "Uh... Both."
This time, her laugh sounded more like hers.
(Y/n) pulled him into an actual hug, careful to keep her bleeding had away from his white swimming shirt.
"Thanks for making me feel better, Link," she muttered. "Let's go swimming. I'll clean this up later."

"Hey, (Y/n)?" a seventeen-year-old blonde asked his childhood friend.
"Hmm?"
"You remember that pot of yours that you broke 5 years ago?"
She cocked her head to the side. "Of course I do. What about it?"
Link's face flared red as he took her head and began leading her out of her garden.
"I hated having to see you go through that pain."
He brought her into his house.
"I'll admit, I'll never be as good a potter as you are."
He let go of her hand to grab something from his closet.
"But I suppose it does look kind of like it."
(Y/n)'s (e/c) eyes widened and watered as he turned, showing nearly the same pot she'd made all of those years ago. The shiny (f/c) and (2f/c) shimmered in the noonday sun coming in through the open window.
Link smiled sheepishly, his face as red as one of the crabs on the beach.
"This time," he said, gently setting it down before she engulfed him in a hug. "Don't drop it."
