Twilight Princess!Link X Reader

Link's POV

Link had practically wasted no time to head out for Kakariko Village as soon as he heard the children of Ordon Village were there. He simply called Epona and left.

Now, he was in the middle of Hyrule field, quickly making his way to Kakariko.

But, just his luck, it was under a shroud of Twilight.

Link didn't even listen to Midna's snarky remarks before beginning his search for his friends.

Locations that surrendered to the Twilight seemed so... Sad. It was a strange sadness, one that couldn't be described too easily. The light was dim and created overlapping shadows that added to both the sadness and the eeriness.

"Alright, puppy. Hurry up and find your friends. We need to work on getting this place out of Twilight, since you don't seem to like it that much," Midna said, messing with some of the hair on the top of his wolf head.

Link snarled quietly, not really in the mood to either be pet nor to be told what to do.

After a while of searching, Link found them.

Though they couldn't see him.

Link felt a sense of relief as he heard them talk.

"Link will come and save us, I'm sure of it," Colin said, believing in Link as he always had.

"Yeah. We heard the first 6 times you said it," Talo said, wholeheartedly dispirited.

"If your friend is as much of a hero as you claim he is," one of the older men said. "Will he save my daughter?"

Colin turned to the man, a gleam of complete faith in the spirit's eyes. "If you ask him, I know he will, Renado! I'm sure of it!"

The man, Renado, smiled slightly. "I sure hope so. My daughter is my everything, and I have no idea where she is. And with all those monsters crawling around..."

Beth spoke up, "Don't worry, Mr. Renado, Link will find... What was her name again?"

"(Y/n)."

"Yeah, of course. Link will find (Y/n). We just gotta believe in him."

Renado sighed. "If you say so."

Midna hit Link on the back of the head, telling him that he needed to get a move on. She leaned in and whispered into his ear. "Earlier, that Renado guy was talking about a kind of secret passage somewhere in here. Light those torches."

Link took less than 4 steps before she hit him again.

"And hurry it up, will ya?"

It didn't take too terribly long for Link to return Kakariko Village to normal.

If someone asked Midna, on the other hand, she'd tell them that "it took him forever."

Being back in in his normal body, Link didn't hesitate to tell Midna to shut up.

"Link! Guys! It's Link!"

"Yeah! He did it!"

"He saved the village!"

The chorus of excited voices hit him seconds before the bodies did.
