A week after their meeting, James was still frustrated for not having much confidence to approach her.

"Come on! Can't you just go and talk to her?! She's all alone on that table over there!". Finally, after arguing with himself and asking people on the internet, he finally summoned the courage to walk up to her and start a conversation.

"Hi. I'm James. Do you still remember? Mae introduced us last week.". "Yes. I remember you.". "How are you?". " I'm fine, thank you for asking. How come you're sitting all alone in this table? Where are all your friends?". " Oh, them? They are still having lunch. How about you? How come you're all alone?". "Me? Well, my friend are getting ready for the program and I can't be of much help to them so, here I am.".

The conversation went on and on until it was time of the program to start. "So, since there will be a lot of people in the program, I figured I might not see you again today. So, can I at least get your number?". "Sure. But let me warn you. I'm not the kind that texts often. I might not text you back when you text me.". "You don't have to worry about that. I'll just text you if you're not too busy.". "OK. By the way, I won't watch the program until it ends. My sister wants to come home early. It's our youngest brother's birthday today.

They ended up going to the program together. Their conversation continued until she left for her brother's birthday party.

A simple conversation. That was allit took for them to be friends. Although hesitant at first, James figured thatfriendship is always a good start for a relationship.
