The Move (Steve X Reader)

You smiled as you plopped down onto the couch next to Steve. "Hey," you said in a flirty tone, "Come here often?" you joked

"Seeing as how this is your apartment, Y/N, yes," He gave you a grin, looking over at you.

"So you helping me move tomorrow?" you asked bringing my knees to my chest.

"I can't, I have a mission to go on tomorrow," He said, with an apologetic smile.

"Fine, I'll take Bucky, he'll look better lifting those boxes anyway, maybe I can get him to put his hair in a messy bun." You joked, he gave you a sly grin.

"Nice try, but I have to do this mission," He said

"I know," I said smiling over at him, "You have responsibilities as Captain America and as your best friend, I have to respect that," You smiled getting up, it was late and you had to finish your packing.

"Listen, you should go, I have packing and I'm sure your Avenger friends are wondering where you are." You said getting up and walking Steve to the door, you stood on your tiptoes and wrapped your arms around his neck, giving him a quick hug.

"Stay safe," You whispered, he just wrapped his arms around you in response. "I mean it, Steven." You said pulling away from him, your usual happy face, became serious.

"Okay, I'll stay safe..." He gave you a smile, it was obvious that there was no way in hell he would be able to stay safe completely. You knew damn well what he did on those missions he was nowhere near safe.

You watched him walk out of your apartment door, and you gave him a slight smile, that man was everything to you. You could never take your eyes off him, but you both knew that if you were together it would never work. You both tried and it all went to hell, you didn't talk to each other for three months. It was pure hell, being away from him. So you both agreed that you wouldn't try again, although you wanted it desperately.

You lock your door and make your way to your bedroom. Grabbing yet another box for all of your books. You stacked them inside not really caring if they were neat or not. You get the last of your books, -finally- and put them with the rest. You quickly grab a marker and write 'My Children' on the box. That was the last of it, all of your things were packed. You quickly got onto your mattress that sat alone on the floor, your frame had been put in the corner of the room to be moved tomorrow.

You stared at your ceiling, your hands folded neatly on your stomach. You were still madly in love with Steven Rogers, there was no denying it. You loved that man with your entire heart and soul, but he was far from your failed relationship. Best friends or not he moved on and had no longer reciprocated the feelings you had toward him.

You rolled onto your side and quickly shut your eyes. Pleading that your mind would shut off and you could finally sleep. Eventually, you did, and you couldn't help but be grateful for not thinking about Steve.

You smiled as you opened your eyes, your entire room had been almost completely empty, except for your boxes and mattress, and of course your dresser and nightstand. You quickly looked over to the clock, the movers would be here at two, you had been told only two men could be of service, so without Steve, this could take a while.

You sighed and quickly got ready, taking a shower with the raining products you had. After you're done you took everything you had used and put them in the boxes. You grabbed a pair of clothes that you had kept out and put them on. Nothing special just short-Shorts and a T-shirt. You once again looked over at your clock and caught the time before you unplugged it. You had half an hour to finish up everything, which was more than enough time.
