Ch 5

DEREK'S POV

There's something about this girl. Its odd. She looked nervous shifting her gaze away from me and clutching to the blanket across her body tighter. Frankly, it's kinda cute..

"What's your name kid?" I asked her. Trying my absolute best not to freak her out.

She lifted her head and looked at me. Hesitant for a second. "Um.. st-stella.. Stella Stilinski" she said. I recognised that name..

She looked away again "a-and y-yours?" She's pretty nervous I don't know why. Her heart pace is fast too. Am I that creepy?

"Its Derek. So you're deputy stilinski's kid?" I said as I realized I was sitting too close to her. I got up and went to sit on the sofa next to her. Maybe it'll let her relax a bit.

"H-how did you know that?" She asked startled.

"I used to live in beacon hills, I've met him once or twice. I moved out few years ago to live on my own here." I told her briefly. She doesn't need to know details.

"Ohh.. Well.. Yea I'm his daughter and he's the sheriff now." Stella said. I think she calmed down a bit.

"So what brought you here?" I wanted to know more about her. I don't know why I'm not calling a taxi for her to go on her own way. No I can't do that.. There are a lot of dangerous things out there.. Like werewolves.. What? Why do I seem to care about her safety??

"Well.. I was heading to Kingston University's campus to settle down and prepare for next week" Stella said. Her voice is just.. And her eyes are so.. STOP IT DEREK!!

This university is about 30 minutes drive from here. Good it's not far. Really Derek? Why do you care if it was far or not.

"Good, So you have time to rest. You know I can't let you leave.You just had a car accident. you might have a concussion or something.You did hit your head pretty hard Stella."

I cant let you leave??? Really Derek? You just sounded like a total psychopath! Way to go! I hope I didn't scare her that much..

Stella's POV

Whoa.. The way he said my name. I swear the sound of it sent shivers down my spine! Oh I wish I could ask him to say it again.. And again..

"Mm..yea okay." I replied. Still replaying the sound of my name in my head.

He seemed surprised.

"Okay?" He asked in disbelief.

"Okay." I answered him with a smile. I could've sworn I saw the corners of his lips from a genuine smile, but it was quickly brushed off and he was back to his serious face. I know I can't trust him! But my gut tells me there's nothing to be afraid of, that he isn't a bad scary guy.. Idk..

"I can't stay for long though.." He looked disappointed..maybe..

"...I do have to go register and set things up.." I told him. And he nodded. Even though it was completely okay if I don't go to campus till the beginning of next week, with school starting. But I had to tell him that because part of me is still a bit creeped out. I know nothing about this guy. I can't just stay over for a week in his place.

We stayed quiet for few moments. "Umm Derek.." I said without eye contact. If I stare at his gorgeous eyes I'll just stutter and make a fool out of myself.

"Yes kid" he replied.

"I'm not a kid! umm..do you think my clothes are dry now..? I'm kinda cold.." I saw that he sort of hanged my clothes on couple of chairs next to the fire place to dry them out.The thought of him hanging my underwear is so embarrassing. But that was sweet of him..
