Ch 10

DEREK'S POV

I kept running trying to catch her scent or to listen to anything that might lead me to Stella! Her voice, her heartbeats, anything.. I heard a cellphone faintly ringing.. I followed it and ran till I reached it. I saw a cellphone at the edge of the road.
It was still ringing. It read "dad". Is it Stella's phone?
I answered but didn't say anything.
"Stella! Stella! Are you there! Where the hell are you? You're not in campus I called to check! Hello? Stella!! Dammit stel-" I hung up, turned the phone off and shoved it in my pocket.
I'm so worried where could she be! Where did that scumbag take her!

I spent a few hours searching the woods. This is all because of me. She could be hurt right now or even worse. She could be dead. I'm not gonna stop looking. The rain storm stopped but made it so hard to pick up her scent or car tracks. It's around 7 pm now. It's all dark in the woods. I hope she's okay.

Her face when I hurt her kept popping in my head. I regret saying those words. They weren't the truth. I just.. I dunno.. It was just to push her away like I do to everyone. I know I shouldn't have done that. But I lost the people I loved the most, my family, and this created huge emptiness and ache in me. It shattered me. It made me push everyone away so that I don't enjoy or like spending time with them and end up losing them too. I don't think I'll survive another breakdown. That's why I've been living an isolated life all alone. I don't let anyone in. The few friends I have are old childhood friends. They know my story. They visit me from time to time.

I saw car headlights coming from the road few meters behind. I stood in the dark to see. Shockingly, it was that same car! It turned left to the trail I found Stella's phone in. And drove for around 5 minutes. I was following him. He stopped in front of a creepy small cabin that seemed abandoned. He has Stella in there I can hear her heartbeats. Her heartbeats are the only assurance I have now that she isn't dead. I hope she's okay though.

The driver left the car humming heading for the cabin.
I jumped in front of him and growled. Showing my sharp werewolf teeth and my alpha's red eyes. He freaked out obviously never seeing a werewolf before.

"Holy shit!" He started to back away. I heard Stella's gasp from inside the cabin and her heartbeats went super fast.

I grabbed the smelly guy from his shirt with two fists and lifted him up the ground a bit.
"N-no -no please-" he begged.

I threw him and he hit the ground. Chains fell from his large pocket. I saw his hand and notice that he was holding a whip. He was obviously going to torture Stella to death.

I was going to let him live but not anymore. I'm filled with rage right now. I reached a point where I can't control my anger anymore. I'm shivering with fury. My sharp teeth and my claws are out and ready. People like him shouldn't live.

I growled so loud using all the air in my lungs. I jumped on top of him and slit his throat. He was gone instantly.
The only sound filling up my ears right now is Stella's heavy breathing and rapid heartbeats. I have to go to her. Claws and teeth are hidden now. Eyes back to normal human colour. I can't let her see me like that. Not just yet..

Stella's POV

It sounded like a battle took place right outside of the cabin's door. The bear's roars and growls terrified the hell out of me. But suddenly, it's all silent now. My breathing is still fast I'm gasping uncontrollably as if there's no oxygen in the room. The tape covering my mouth making it even harder to breathe.

I heard the door handle suddenly twisting breaking the silence. I shut my eyes so tight not wanting to see the bear attacking me and killing me just like he did to Luke. I heard the door slam open. That's it. I couldn't hold it anymore I started crying Waterfalls but I still wouldn't dare to open them. I don't wanna die...
