"Hola Jenni!"
"Ema!" I see a blonde walking next to her. She has a fUCKING nEcK tAt.
"Esta es María, aunque ella prefiere Mapi." (This is María, she prefers Mapi though.)
"Soy Ema Te vi durante la copa del mundo, y no voy a mentir, pensé que eras lindo." (I'm Ema. I watched you during the World Cup and I'm not going to lie, I thought you were cute.) She blushes, which she should do more often.
"Por lo general, Mapi es la coqueta, es agradable ver un cambio." (Usually, Mapi is the flirty one, nice to see a change.) Jenni says, making me laugh.

After a long day of walking around Barcelona, we find ourselves lounging around the beach. Mapi comes and sits next to me.
"Did you mean what you said?" I look at her confused. Because one: she speaks English? Two: what?
"At the coffee place." She clarifies.
"I mean I wasn't wrong," I say, playfully bumping her shoulder, "You are more than cute, you're beautiful." Her face instantly heats up.
"I feel it would be wrong to kiss you because I've known you for eight hours. But life is short." She softly grabs the right side of my face and leans in, applying a small amount of pressure on my lips. She pulls back, keeping our foreheads connected. I look into her brown eyes and see something in her ease up.
"¿Me estoy entrometiendo en algo?" (Am I intruding in on something?) Jenni says, making us pull away from each other quickly.
"No no. Solo estábamos..." (No, no. We were just...)
"Bueno... Los dejo a los dos. " (Okay... I'll leave you two be.)
I turn back towards Mapi. "What are we going to do? I have to go back to the States in a week, for preseason with Stanford. And you'll be here, in Europe, balling out..."
"We'll make it work. If you really love someone, you'll find a way."
"Why do you have to be so sweet?"
"Oh. I don't know...."
"Wait! I have an idea! How about I stay with you? I don't want to leave you... and I probably can't." I say the last part a little quieter.
"Awww. You like me!"
"Well, why would I have kissed you if I didn't!"
"True. Maybe we could do it again, just to clear up some things." I laugh and then grab her face, softly connecting our lips and smiling into the kiss.

I plop down on Mapi's couch and lean my head back.
"Why am I so tired. It's literally only," I look at my phone, it reads 00 00, "Oh, that's why."
Mapi sits down next to me, "Want to watch a movie?"
"Yeah. I think I have one you'll like!" I flip on Rugrats in Paris. They don't have the original show, the Rugrats in Spain, so this will be interesting.

The movie ends and Mapi turns towards me.
"This is what they watch in America?" I nod, "It's just about babies running around and being annoying! Why would you make me watch this?!" I start laughing, to the point my stomach hurts.
"You just don't get the point! It teaches that you need to take risks and the value of true friendship."
"Wow. I don't know how one could be so passionate about a kids show. Well, since you love it, I guess I love it now."
"Aww. Your so cheesy, I love it!"
"Anyways, I'm tired. Let's get to bed." She says, blushing.
"Do you want me to sleep on the couch?" I ask.
"No. Sleep in the bed with me. I don't want your back to be sore before preseason."
"If you insist."
We both do our nightly routines and then hop into bed. I end up on the edge, trying to give her space.
"Are you scared of me?" She asks from her side.
"No, I just want to give you space. I don't know how you sleep."
"Well you can come closer, I don't bite. Plus, I wouldn't mind cuddles."
I scoot closer to her and find her laying on her back. I lay my head on her shoulder/collarbone area and softly lay my hand on her stomach.

I wake up in the same position I was in last night, but my hand somehow found its way up Mapi's shirt. "Oh shit," I say removing my hand from under her shirt and attempting to get up.
"No. Stay." She says, pulling me down. I land on top of her and put my head in the crook of her neck.
"Your such a snuggle bug. Who would expect that from big, tough Mapi?"
"Just cuddle me!"
"Okay. I guess..."
