All I want is nothing more
To hear you knocking at my door
'Cause if I could see your face once more
I could die a happy woman I'm sure

It's been a year. A year since she left for Sydney.

I had met her when I was playing for the Newcastle Jets in 2015. I even followed her to Sweden and Norway, but she left.

She had gotten an offer from Sydney and took it. She didn't even tell me. She had just packed her bags and left.

When you said your last goodbye
I died a little bit inside
I lay in tears in bed all night
Alone without you by my side

Flashback

"I'm going to Sydney." She states proudly.

"Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this?"

"I thought I told you?" She questions.

"No, you didn't."

"We'll my flight leaves in a few hours."

"Well, good for you." Sarcasm.

"Why are you being like this?"

"DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, AND YOU JUST UP AND LEAVE? I WANTED TO MARRY YOU, I WANTED TO START A FAMILY WITH YOU! BUT HOW CAN I TRUST YOU IF YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL ME ABOUT SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE?"

"I love you. I hope we can cross paths again." She comes and kisses me. She let's it linger, making it feel like the last.

But if you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Take my body
Take my body
All I want is
And all I need is
To find somebody
I'll find somebody like you

Why didn't she just take me? She was my everything. My everything. I lived life, because of her.

I had a ring.

We had only dated a year, and I was planning on proposing.

I wanted to start a family with her, but she left.

So you brought out the best of me
A part of me I've never seen
You took my soul and wiped it clean
Our love was made for movie screens

When we first met, I was in a bad place.

She helped me through everything. She was my light in the darkness.

Whenever she saw me, her mood would brighten.

We couldn't live without each other.

But if you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Take my body
Take my body
All I want is
And all I need is
To find somebody
I'll find somebody

Chloe: Could we talk, over coffee?

Morgan: What time?

Chloe: In thirty minutes, our old spot.

If you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Take my body
Take my body
All I want is
And all I need is
To find somebody
I'll find somebody like you

I look around and instantly see her.

"Chloe."

"Morgan."

After a prolonged silence, I speak up, "How have you been?"

"Good. What about you?"

"It's been a rough year. But I'm pretty good, right now."

"Good. I'm happy for you." She shows her beautiful smile.

"Before we go into anything else, I just have to ask: why didn't you tell me you got the offer?"

"I was scared of your reaction. I didn't want you to freak out. I thought it was the only option, to run. I think it's just an instinct. To run whenever I feel I'm not going to be accepted."

"Chloe, you could have just told me. I know how much you've wanted to play in your hometown. We would have worked out the whole long distance thing, and we would be fine."

"I got an offer from a team in America, they want you to." She says quickly.

"Who?"

"The Washington Spirit."

"I'm down." I say, shocking her.

"Well, let's go do this thing together."

I grab her face and kiss. Fuck.

She kisses back. What is happening?

"We're in this together." I say, when we pull away, still having our foreheads connected.

"No running."

"No running."
