I feel like I am drowning in so many different emotions. Grayson saved Teagans life, Teagan saved mine, and Brynn is saving Cannons. We think we are safe but we don't know.
I thank Grayson, I am so lucky to have a friend like him. I don't know what I would have done if Teagan had died for good. She knew that she would die if she used her Recs like that, but she did it anyway. For me.
I walk back over to Teagan. "I love you Teag," I whimper. "What's wrong Ry?" Teagan questions. "You were dead. Teagan that's what's wrong." I sobbed.
Teagans eyes fill with tears. She reaches up with one of her hands and wipes the tears off of my face. "But we are both here now, that's what matters,"She assured. I began crying even harder and then I hugged her.
Kacey stood behind me and rubbed my back. "Hey sis," Teagan spoke. "Hey squirt," Kacey responded. "You okay?" Kacey questions. "Yeah, just a little worn," Teagan yawned. "Get some sleep squirt," Kacey advises. With that Teagan falls asleep.
Kacey taps my back. "Come with me Rylee," She spoke. I follow her back outside where I find Grayson. "Do you guys think that it's actually safe here?" Grayson questions.
"Well Teagans dad set us up with them, and this war is the only thing he really cared about, so yeah," I replied. "She is right," Kacey confirms shooting me a look.
We walk back indoors to find Cannon awake and sitting upright. Gregor walks into the room. "Want some chicken beef soup?" He asks. "Okay" Cannon responds as if he knew what's going on. Grayson and I nod. Kacey says and does nothing.
"Follow me into the kitchen then," Gregor said. We follow him into an old vintage kitchen with weathered wooden cabinets. On a round oak table is some bowls with soup in them. "Help yourselves," He advises.
Cannon, Grayson, and I walked over to the round oak table sit down in brown chairs, and eat. "This is delicious," Cannon remarks. "Yeah, got that right," Grayson agreed. "Thank you Gregor," I added. "Don't thank me, thank my daughter Brynn," He credits Brynn who is leaning on the green vintage counter tops.
Kacey must be staying with Teagan. I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen where the bus had landed. "Do you think you could check my abdomen out?" I ask Brynn. "Sure, show me what you've got," She responds.
I take off my pink coat revealing my blood drenched crop top and a massive gash. Everyone stared at me. "Lay down on the ground, on your back immediately," Brynn orders. I do as I am told. I grunt. It's unbelievably painful, how did I not notice before.
Brynn lays her freezing cold hands on my stomach, she begins to glow. "This is going to leave a massive scar," She states. "But you will be thankful for this," I grit my teeth, this is surprisingly painful also. At least I won't die.
"There, you're good. No more gash," She claims. I look at my stomach only to find a massive scar and smeared dark red blood. "Thank you," I speak. Brynn nods and walks out of the room to check on Teagan. I follow her out.
Teagan is awake and talking to Kacey. I stumble over to Teagan and Kacey. Brynn stays in the doorway just watching.
"Hey Teagan," I say. "Hey, what's up?" Teagan responds. "Have you sat up yet?" I question. Teagan struggles to sit up, but she does. "Have now," She replies.
"That looked kind of difficult," Kacey states. "It'll be like that for a while, the actual problem might be gone, but the effects are still there from when you last used your recs," Brynn chimes in.
"Is that why my abdomen scarred?" I question. "Yeah, because the effects are there but the healed effects instead of the unhealed, or in Teagans case the after effects of the healing," Brynn responds. "Oh" Teagan says quietly.
