The kiss lasts longer than what Eliza is clearly comfortable with because she breaks it off. She has never kissed anyone like that and she is going to see Sebastian tonight. They never kissed much. It was never more than a peck.
She just rests in his arms. She is worried about how tonight will go.
"Eliza?" Clay says gently. "It'll be dinner time soon. I'd hate to ruin this moment, but we should get going."
Were they having a moment? I guess we are- or were. Clay's strong grasp makes Eliza feel safe, secure. She feels like she can forget her worries around him. Did Sebastian ever make me feel this way? She's unsure.
"You ready?" He asks looking into her eyes.
"I just want to do one thing first." Eliza hopes she isn't overstepping her bounds. She takes a deep breath and kisses Clay again just as long but more confident and natural, as if they had done it forever.
They walk back to the dorms. They're footsteps are perkier than earlier. They hold hands and gently swing them back and forth. Eliza feels like she is on cloud nine as she picks out an outfit from the Wardrobe and is getting changed. She find Valerie afterward and asks her to do a four strand braid that starts at the top of her head slowly gains more hair as it courses down her head and ends just past her elbow.
