She steps outside to a cool, dewy morning. She took in a deep breath. Eliza has to clear her head. In her current state of mind she would be more of a hindrance than help.
Eliza just wants to be comforted, but everyone who was close to her is gone. Her mother and sister died for this cause. Clay broke up with her and Valerie was shot and may not still be alive. Sebastian may want to still be friends with Eliza, but Eliza is pushing him away because she can't afford to lose anyone else.
As she walked down the empty road, tears rolled down Eliza's cheeks. She silently cries.
She has to stop when she hears the squeak of a swing. She turns and realizes that she has wondered unto the playground that she first met Sebastian on. She smiles when she pictures him standing on top of the playground looking down to her with the cute smile of his.
"Eliza, we need to talk."
Eliza spins around to face the voice. She sees Liam and Helena walking toward her. She instinctively backs away until she backs into the playground and stops when the metal hits her back forcing her to stop.
Eliza shakes her head and glares at them. "Why?" She snaps and stands up straighter.
Helena steps forward and speaks, "because you can't tell everyone what really going on."
"Again, I ask why?" Eliza snaps.
This time Liam speaks up. "I will explain in my office."
"And what if I don't want to go to your office?" Eliza is hesitant to ask because she knows his ruthless nature.
"If you don't come with us quietly we will kill everyone in the Morris' house. That's right, we know that that is where you are staying." There is no hesitation in his voice, no regret, no conscience.
Liam continued "Ekon spotted the four of you running from factory, but unfortunately the hovers were on auto-pilot and so we had to make the return trip."
"Why do you just want me?" Again, Eliza asks a question that she already know the answer to.
"I think that we all just need a little family bonding time." He glanced to Helena and back to Eliza.
Eliza nods and follows them onto their hovercraft that was a few yards behind them. Eliza walks up the ramp first. She looks around. The seats are a cream color and synthetic leather. The seats line the walls. There is an autopilot system with no controls to override them.
Eliza sits and straps in. Liam and Helena do the same after Liam presses a button to close the ramp.
Sitting across from them, Eliza stares at her captors. They must think that she was leading their mission and that without her they would abandon the plan. They're wrong. She was the leader, but without her the plan will still unfold and the people will know the truth.
They fly in silence until Eliza has to ask the question that is eating away at her brain. "What did you do to the rebels?" There is a menacing edge to her voice.
"Don't worry, the ones that we captured are fine. They're being held in one of the pole building on the school property." Helena replied.
"It that suppose to make me feel better?" Eliza's hands rolled into fists. She had to contain her temper. "How many did you capture."
"About thirty." Liam chimed in.
"Thirty?" Eliza shouted. "That's less than half of our original number! You killed them! You killed them in cold blood! You are a psychopath! You son of a-'
