Clay is sitting with all of the hidders and deceivers. Eliza has brought the two groups together. They didn't hate each other. They just didn't know how to relate to each other, but Eliza has bridged that gap.
There are multiple conversations going on around him, but Clay sits quietly eating his dinner slowly and watching the doorway expectantly.
Eliza appears in the doorway with Sebastian behind her. Eliza sits between Clay and Valerie, while Sebastian sits across from her.
Eliza looks a little upset and Clay finds himself a little protective of her. He gives Sebastian a warning look to let him know that Clay will not tolerate him hurting Eliza.
Eliza catches his glance and puts her hand on his thigh to let him know that he should calm down and leave Sebastian alone. Clay looks into Eliza's eyes and puts his a=hand over her's. He glances up to that, even though he can't see their hands clasped together, they are still making Sebastian uncomfortable. Good.
One of the runners, Brindle, starts to talk Sebastian's ear off. When he gets up food, Brin- as she likes to be called- turns to Eliza and says, "Holy hotness! That's your Ex?"
Clay watches Eliza ignore his gaze as she giggles and replies, "yep," in a cheerful voice.
Clay is both jealous and relieved by Eliza's response.
