"Zayn, what if she doesn't like me?" I whined nervously as we waited for his mother. He reached out and grabbed my hand.

"You're going to be fine. She has no reason to dislike you."

"No reason except the fact I ruined your engagement." I mumbled, making him roll his eyes.

"If anything it was me who ruined it. Not that I'm complaining though. I wouldn't have you if I wouldn't have seduced you." Zayn smirked.

"Stop smirking Malik. You're lucky I even let you in my panties."

"A lucky man for sure, Megan." He suddenly stood up from our table and pulled me up with him. I looked around and finally grasped that he was preparing to greet his mother who was waltzing across the restaurant.

"Zayn! Hello my love. How are you?" She said, embracing him in a tight hug.

"I'm lovely mother."

She pulled away from him then turned to me, giving me a gleaming smile. "Hello dear, you must be Megan. I'm Trisha."

"It's so nice to meet you." I returned her smile then leaned in for a quick hug.

"You as well. I've heard so much about you!" Trisha said, taking her seat across from Zayn and I.

"How are the girls, mom?"

"Just lovely!" She said, clapping her hands together. "They are just dying to meet you're new fiancé. Since they weren't necessarily keen on your last one."

Oh!

"But let's not speak of her today. So, Zayn, tell me again how you two met."

"Megan and her band were on tour with us, mom. You know what." He sighed.

"No, I mean how did you two get together?"

I took a sip of water awkwardly as Zayn tried to find the right words to tell her without giving too much away.

"We just started hanging out a lot as friends I guess you could say and just- we got off well from the very start." He said. I could hear a twist in his tone at the end which made me almost spit my water out because of his provocative choice of words. Thankfully, Trisha didn't catch their double meaning.

"Ah, I see. So, Megan have you picked out a dress yet?"

"Um, no. I need to get on that I suppose." I mumbled.

"Oh my! The wedding isn't even in two months my dear."

"I know. I was kind of waiting until I could invite you to come along. If you would like to go that is."

"I wouldn't miss it for anything." She smiled, putting me at ease.

The rest of lunch was spend discussing wedding details and little bit of small talk. We soon said our goodbyes and parted ways.

"So I think she likes you." Zayn said as we headed back to his apartment.

"You think? I wasn't sure at first."

"She thinks you're lovely. She even sent me a text during our lunch date. You had nothing to worry about my love." He said, pressing his lips to my cheek. "The only thing you have to worry about is what I'm going to do to you once we walk to that front door."

"Oh? And what is that?" I smirked.

"You'll see." He laughed, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder.

-----------------------------

"Hello ma'am. How can I help you?" The woman at dressed in tacky navy blue fabric asked as I approached her desk.

"Yes, I called earlier and scheduled a private visit with one of your prisoners named Jim Bates."

"Oh of course. Ms. Edwards isn't it?"

"The one and only." I sighed.

"Oh, um, yes. Follow me. I'll take you to the private room." She said, getting up from her seat and ushering me down the hall until we reached a room that had a big window looking into it. "Okay, here we are Mr. Edwards. Jim will be out shortly. Security will be monitoring you both from this window for your safety. Everything you say will be private."

"Thank you." I said, giving her a tight smile before taking my seat at the table. I sighed in boredom and started to pick at my manicure impatiently.

"What does she want?" I heard a man's voice ask behind the door which opened soon after.

"He's all yours Ms. Edwards. I'll be watching for your safety behind this window." The officer stated.

"Thank you. I appreciate it." I said, smiling until he closed the door. Once closed, it faded. It was time to do business.

"Hello Jim. My name is Perrie Edwards."

"Yeah, I know who you are. What do you want?" He grumbled.

"I'm here to talk about your daughter-"

"No! I'm not talking about that-"

"And your bail." I continued.

"I'm listening." He urged me on, not interrupting this time.

"I have a check ready in my purse that will be your ticket out of here." I say, a slight smirk playing on my lips.

"And why would you do that?"

"Because you need help, you see. And you are the person I need in order to get that help."

"Okay what is it?"

"I want to ruin a wedding. Your daughter and my ex-fiancés to be exact."

"Ah, I see. What's in it for me?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"Your freedom. And a chance to finish what you started a few months ago."

"I don't know-"

"Think about it Jim. You can have a second chance. Don't you want it? She did ruin your life after all. And also mine. I think this is a pretty good deal."

He sat for a while, thinking what I had said over and over again.

"Well?" I asked him one last time.

"I'm in."
