"Engaged? Well it's about damn time." Alex said, taking a sip of her coffee. "Took that kid months to come to his senses."
"It was worth the wait." I chuckled.
It had been exactly a month since the scene in front of the hotel and the first time that Alex and I has spoken since our argument. After the wedding had been called off, Zayn and I went in to "hiding" you could say, in order to get away from the media for a while. Just to focus on ourselves.
Nobody really knew what was going on with us exactly, including our friends, which was quite nice. But now, with the second leg of the tour coming up, it was time to go public and start planning the ceremony.
"Where are you guys planning on having the ceremony?"
"We haven't decided yet. It's between an old castle on the countryside of Paris or a vineyard in California."
"Two different places but both sound perfect. When are you going to do this?"
"Before the tour starts up again." I sighed.
"So soon? You do realize that that's in less than two months right?" She asked, eyebrow raised.
"I know. I have a shit ton of things to get done before then. I have to find a dress, get a maid of honor and a bridesmaid, Zayn and I have to pick out a cake, make a guest list. The list goes on and on." I grumbled.
"Well, if you need any help with any of this just let me know." Alex said quietly.
"Thanks."
We sat quietly for a moment, all you could hear was the soft conversations going on around us in the small little coffee shop.
"Megan, I'm so sorry." Alex sighed, breaking the awkward silence. "I'm sorry I texted Niall that picture. I shouldn't have done it and-"
"Shh. It's fine. Honestly, If you wouldn't have done it, Zayn would probably be on his honeymoon." I cringe at the thought.
"I guess you're right. So, we're okay?"
"Sure. On one condition." I said, making Alex lean forward in her seat anxiously. "You have to be my maid of honor."
"Oh my god! Yes!" She screamed, causing everybody in the coffee shop to stop their small talk and turn our way.
"Shh!" I laughed. "And you have to keep your voice down. Now I'm pretty sure everybody has recognized us."
"No pictures please." She laughed. "So what do you have planned for the rest of the day?"
"I'm going to meet Zayn's mother later. I'm not looking forward to that." I admitted.
"You're going to be fine. What's the worse that could happen?" She paused for a moment. "Wait, don't answer that."
"Exactly. In fact I should get going now. Zayn is expecting me soon. I have to meet him and his mom at the hotel where she is staying."
"Alright. See you soon!"
-------------------------
A few months ago, global super stars Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards were in a seemingly perfect relationship with plans to be married in August. In a venue near Malik's home, wedding guests arrived by the hundreds, flocking to watch his blushing bride walk down the isle.
Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.
Months leading up to the wedding, Malik had been rumored to be involved with tour-mate Megan Bates, who was in a relationship with fellow band member Niall Horan, romantically behind closed doors. They both immediately "put the rumor to bed", even doing a joint interview that aired only days after allegations started to circulate.
After that, the romance rumors soon died down. Megan was even photographed wedding dress shopping with Perrie and then weeks later Megan was pregnant. At the time, it was suspected to be then boyfriend Niall Horan's child but now we know that it was in fact Malik's. The baby was lost in a miscarriage after Megan's estranged father attacked her, causing the loss. He is now in jail.
"She didn't know how to tell Niall. So she just didn't. The truth came out when she finally confessed the truth about the secret relationship that had been going on with Zayn. Niall was crushed." A source tells us exclusively.
Malik and Edwards called off their wedding last minuet. Guests were seated then told to leave by Perrie who was "screaming and crying." Malik then rushed to the hotel where Bates was staying and soon proposed after reuniting with his lover. They will be married in late October.
I clicked the TV off, chucking the remote at the screen. I sat in silence, cringing as I felt each word I had just heard cut into me slowly.
I glanced around at the trashed apartment. There were two years worth of pictures on the floor, surrounded by the broken glass that had once held them in a pretty frame.
My engagement ring was still in it's place on my left hand. Suddenly, it felt as if it were going to burn a hole through my finger. But I refused to take it off. I wasn't ready to let him go just yet.
I still had hope. And there was no way I was going down without a fight.
I picked up the phone next to me and dialed the number that I had written down a few days ago as my mind was going through options. A woman picked up on the first ring.
"New York county jail. How may I help you?" She said, her voice bored.
"Hello, yes. I have a few questions."
"Of course."
"I was wondering how much information you are legally aloud to give me on one of your prisoners."
"Very little ma'am unless you're family."
"I see. Well, what can you tell me about Jim Bates, one of your prisoners."
"That depends on what you want to know." She sighed.
"How much is his bail?"
(Yay I'm back! Hopefully you liked the first chapter of part two:) and thank you for your crazy support :) part two is going to be short. It's only going to be about the time leading up to Zayn and Perrie's wedding. If I see I can write even more about it I'll transfer the chapters and make a separate book. For now, I'm just adding it on to the original. Also, I won't update it more than twice a week. College is kicking my butt and writing on something that I've been working on for months is quite difficult. So be patient;) follow me on Twitter: @DatBieberCraic and listen to the Just Friends (a Zayn Malik Fanfic) playlist on spotify. :) love you! Make sure you vote and comment!
