"How long is this thing? I want to leave." I groaned. Perrie and I had been standing in the doorway of the hotel ballroom for a half hour now greeting guests.
"Zayn, stop complaining. We haven't even been here that long." She hissed at me.
"Whatever. Once I'm done with dinner I'm slipping out the back. Just a warning."
"You do that and it will be the last thing you'll ever do."
I rolled my eyes at her cliché threat. I knew she wouldn't do anything. Especially with a room full of people watching her. She cared about her reputation way too much.
Not that I have any room to say that though.
Today and tomorrow were my last official days as an unmarried man and the thought almost made me want to vomit. Well, the marriage part didn't. It was more who I was marrying.
"Zayn, it's time to get out of fantasy land and come back to reality. More people have arrived and- oh my god."
I looked up at the group of people coming once Perrie's nagging had cut off and I instantly noticed what had shut her up.
Megan walked towards us looking absolutely stunning. She wore a red skin-tight dress that showed off each and every one of her perfect curves which made my member in my pants slightly twitch.
"I can't believe she would show up here dressed like that! What a whore." Perrie sneered under her breath just before Megan finally made it over to us. "Megan! How lovely to see you, doll." Perrie said in the most staged voice.
"You too. I wouldn't have missed it for the world." Megan said, a slight smirk appearing on her lips.
"You look stunning, might I add. Not trying to outdo the bride are you?" Perrie said, throwing her head back in a fake laugh.
"Damn, you caught me." Megan replied. "Well, I'll go and find my seat. I bet Niall is waiting for me. Congrats to you two, again. I'm sure you will have a lovely marriage together."
I couldn't help but stare as Megan strutted off into the ballroom, a very visible smirk plastered on my face. It almost made me proud.
"Ugh! The nerve of that girl. Did you see how rude she was to me?" Perrie whined next to me.
"Babe, you were giving her the same attitude. It was expected."
Thankfully, more people entered the room, saving me from hearing her reply.
Finally, the rehearsal dinner actually started. Food was served and soft music was played by a small orchestra in the corner. It was much too elegant for my taste and for my pocketbook.
Soon, the speeches and toasts started to pour in as dinner started to finish up. Every person said about the same thing except in a different form.
"I wish you both nothing but eternal love and happiness."
"I know you will make each other happy for many years to come."
Perrie sat seemingly enjoying each and ever word while I on the other hand kept sipping on my wine. I probably looked just as bored as I was.
