Several emotions course through Kellin's veins, dizzying him. He falls back onto the couch, the cushions embracing him as he sinks in. The pillows feel as if they might suffocate him. He bites his bottom lip, rereading the note over and over.

I like you too.

What the hell does Vic mean by "too"?

There's no way he knows that Kellin likes him. Kellin has been very careful to keep his secret hidden. Could it have slipped out on accident? He freezes, and remembers the alcohol he drank yesterday. Pieces start to intertwine in his brain, and he knows what happened.

He remembers all of it. Stumbling to the apartment, admitting everything to Vic. It's all crystal clear and fresh in his mind, and he stares down at the note, like it may shatter at any moment. The corner rips and he jolts, afraid that this is all a dream and he's awakening.

But he's simply clenching it a little too tight. He loosens his grip and tucks the note into his pocket, where it's safe from clawing eyes.

The apartment is empty. It's surprising that Vic left him alone here. Usually, Vic tends to not like people intruding on his space. But he must trust Kellin.

Kellin finds the door opening to Vic's room and pushes it open a crack. The floor is a mess of t-shirts and various books. He notices a couple CD cases stacked against a wall. He scans the names on them and smiles. Vic has good music taste.

A notebook lies open on Vic's nightstand and Kellin steps closer, studying the script on the page.

If anything should happen to me, I want you to know
I've loved you since ever since then

He flips through the other pages. Other phrases are scrawled messily, each one tying together to paint a picture of Vic, tortured and desperately in love. Kellin sets the book back down, flipping back to the page it was originally on. He doesn't want Vic to know he was here. He steps carefully out of the room, leaving everything else as is.

On his way back into the living room, the front door to the apartment opens. Kellin freezes up at the sudden intrusion, anxiety jolting him into high alert. It's only Vic, and he relaxes a bit, but he's still tinged with worry as he sits back down on the couch.

Vic can tell from Kellin's eyes that he read the note. They're cautious, studying the brunette as if he isn't quite sure how to make his next move. He doesn't need to. Vic initiated this chain of events by leaving the note. And he doesn't intend to leave it unfinished.

He sits next to Kellin, the sides of their hips brushing against each other. Kellin leans his head onto Vic's shoulder, the migraine from the hangover still present. In response, Vic slips his arm around the boy's waist, holding him.

"Does it hurt?"

Kellin nods.

"If the pain is a sound, let's slow it down."
