Chapter Twenty Two

"Hey love. You excited for holidays?" Harry asked me as we sat in our last class for the day.
"No. It means spending time with the spawn of Satan and his white picket fence family." I sighed. The Wednesday meeting we had this week was absolutely awful. It was awkward and if Harry wasn't there, I have no idea how I would have done it.
"Are you excited?" I turned asking him.
"Yes and no." Huh?? I think he must have noticed my confused expression but he continued on with what he was saying.
"I'm happy there's no more homework or assignments or exams but it means I don't get to see your beautiful face." The entire class went silent. I turned a nice shade of red as all the attention was on the two of us. I was never good at being the centre of attention. It looked like Harry's cheeks lit up an adorable shade of pink. I heard a few murmurs around the classroom before the teacher thankfully regained their attention.
"Tune." Louis coughed beside me.
"Shut up you!" I whispered hitting him on the arm. Neither Harry or I dared talk again in class. Instead he pulled out a corner of one of his pages in his books and scrawled down a short messaged. 'I really did mean it though' was written in royal blue pen. How do reply to that? 'Im gonna miss you too' I wrote underneath in black pen so we could tell who was saying what. Not that the handwriting wasn't a dead give away. 'I think holiday catch ups are in order' he wrote back. We passed the piece of paper back and forth the entire lesson. The bell rang signalling end of term and there were few cheers of glee but most people just packed up to get as quickly out of there as possibly. I however, took my merry time with Harry by my side. Zayn had rushed off to say goodbye to Maddie and Liam and Louis were meeting their girls at the front gates so they had also rushed off.
"So, got any plans for the holidays?" He asked as I stopped at my locker to dump my books.
"Im at dads from Christmas onwards. Rescue me?" I joked.
"It can't be that bad... right?" Dads wasn't THAT bad but it still sucked being in unfamiliar surrounds for so long.
"No but I can think of a million other places I'd rather be." I sighed and shut my locker door. Harry took my hand and his and we returned to our stroll down the halls.
"Well, do you reckon your dad would be cool if I took you out on Christmas?" He asked coolly. I was freaking out on the inside.
"I'm sure he would if it would help improve our relationship." I added bunny ear quote things to the last three words.
"So in other words, you'll guilt him into letting you go?"
"Pretty much." I smiled as if it was nothing. He shook his head smiling.
"Youre a good one, you."
"I know." I beamed.

"Ugh, I have no idea what to get Lou for his birthday. I've done all of my Christmas shopping but I'm totally lost about what else to get him." A frustrated Maddie said to me.
"And that's why you don't leave everything till the last minute. Have I taught you nothing?" We both laughed. She walked up to a window in a jewellery store. She pointed to the silver watch that sat in the middle of the display.
"Yeah, like you can afford that." I snorted. $199 my ass. She looked at me with puppy dog eyes that anyone else would melt and cave in for... Not me. "I don't have that much but daddy guilt." Since I got dad back in my life I have had a constant stream of money on my card but I wasn't complaining. It's all part of his make up scheme.
