So it's finally October 31st and my parents have a business trip to Texas. It's a Friday after school and I'm always opening the fridge. Halloween is awesome on the weekends so you can stay up all night eating candy. My parents call and we talk for like an hour while they tell me everything I have to do. They finish their/my checklist with: "don't forget to take your sister trick-or-treating and check her candy". I freak out because of my Halloween party!! I guess I'll have to send her off with a friend or she won't go. I talk to my sister about it and we remember that neither of us have costumes. Kristie and I get in my car and speed off to the local party city. She picks out a wizard costume that cost 30$, who knew a plastic hat, wooden wand, some aluminum boots and gloves, and a felt robe would cost that much. I pick out the last cat costume in my size. We get home just in time for my party and I tell Kristie that she has to go trick-or-treating on this street only and to take her phone with her. Most of her friends don't have a phone at their age, but Kris is turning 9 in December. People started showing up to my party one after another because apparently Melissa M. has the flu, thanks karma. I see mystery boy standing over by the pool and I don't hesitate to talk to him. I go up and say hey and he said hi back. He smiles and says, "you have an awesome house." I nod and take a sip of my root beer and then remember to say thank you and spit it out on the floor. He laughs. I love his laugh, one good quality in a husband is if they laugh at you when you aren't trying to be funny. We talk and talk and I suggest going swimming. I realize I forgot to tell him my name and ask for his. When he dives in, I sit on the side. He splashes me so I get in. I ask him his name and he says Jake. I tell him my name is Krystal but he can call me Stal. I ask him why he is dating a snob like Melissa, no offense to his choice. He said that they aren't dating and that she lied. I get happy and smile. Sadly my party ended with no kiss for me. I go inside and start cleaning up the place before mom and dad get home at 12:00. I find my sister on the floor with an empty sack. I say oh no and assume that she didn't get any candy. She says that she doesn't feel good because she ate all her candy. I don't believe her at first because she is a hog for attention, again she gets it from me and only me. After arguing with her I find some milk duds in her hair and a tootsie roll stuck to the rug. I believe her now after all that convincing. She goes to bed after helping me clean up the tootsie roll and the candy wrappers. I start to shuffle all the garbage into the trash bag. I hear a car pull up and I run upstairs and roll up in the covers. I successfully pulled off one of many high school Halloween parties.
