"ugh," you groaned, trying to zip your tight burgundy dress.

"shall i help?" madeleine, your best friend, knocks on your door.

"mhh" you nod, sighing in relief when she's done. you thank her before checking yourself once more in the mirror, then glancing at your best friend who looks stunning in her white t-shirt dress and the brown belt around her waist, showing off her curves.

"you look incredible!" you exclaim, making her blush.

"so do you, y/n! ready to hit that party?" she asked, grabbing a purse of yours and quickly pushes all her lady things in it. she always borrowed your stuff, but you couldn't complain, you did the exact same thing with her stuff.

"oh god, yes! let's fucking go!" you chuckled before the two beautiful ladies of you left your tiny apartment in New York.

It was a Friday Night, the exhausting week showed itself on your face. the bags under your eyes, the instant yawning and the thousands of used coffee cups in every corner of your apartment made it obvious that you hadn't slept much. what was sleep again? you work hard, your job is everything you've ever dreamed of so failing or disappointing your chef or even yourself wasn't an option. if that meant that you'd overwork everyday, then so be it. besides, since the muddy breakup with your ex boyfriend, you didn't seemed to being able to sleep in peace anyway.

he broke your heart, several times but you kept running back to him because at least you loved him. deep down you always knew the things he did, you just told yourself not to realize 'em and kept clinging onto the beautiful and charming imagination of him. at one point the excuses you told yourself for him weren't enough anymore and you knew that was it. looking the truth dead in the eye your world shattered, everything made no sense anymore. you were truly broken.

but then you became an amazing job offer, overthrowing yourself into work you made your way to forget, to move on and to learn to live without a fake imagination of someone. yet, your heart still suffered.

breaking out of your deep thoughts you realized that you were almost at the club. it was a ten minutes walk from your apartment.
you could hear the loud music through the thick doors while you and mad waited in the line.
people walked in or where not allowed to enter and had to leave until you and madeleine walked up to the guard. he let both of you in, luckily.

walking in, the familiar feeling of the beat vibrated in your chest, the too loud music floating aggressively in your eyes, the scent of sweat and different types of perfume filled your nose.

"let's head to the bar." you screamed into mad's ear, she nodded walking ahead of you but having a tight grip around your left wrist so she wouldn't lose you. ordering the usual drinks for you was quite a challenge if you consider that getting the barkeepers attention wasn't that easy but after a short while you succeeded on that and could wait for your drinks.
