Turns out Max went over to have a sleepover with El and I arrived early this morning when my parents were still asleep. I decided to go to bed and mess around with the walkie talkie, connecting to different signals until I got bored and put it down.

Today is much windier than ever and I know that after I saw last night. I have to warn someone. Anyone. People are gonna know a lifeguard is missing and they're gonna want to know why. But I can't do that to Billy, but I have to tell someone.

Not chief, I can't let him run into Billy because I wouldn't be surprised if this has to do something...something with...the Upside Down.

But that's the problem. I don't know who to tell. If someone comes up to me first with information, that's when I'll take the next step forward. But until then, I fear I have to keep my mouth shut.

The thunder rumbles out in the open as I pace back and forth. I take a deep, sharp breath in.

Maybe Will knows what's going on. I heard he's been wanting to DND for so long. Maybe if I played his game, they would listen to me. Sure, I snapped at them yesterday but it was only because I was tagging along with El & Max.

"Gnnnngh!" I groan.

WHO DO I TALK TO!?!

I make my way throughout the mall, looking for at the least the comfort of Steve. I sigh, peering around. My hopes seem to lift as I see Steve and Dustin hiding behind a bush.

I chuckle, noticing that Steve has the binoculars taken off of him into Dustin's hands. I'm still shaken up from last night, maybe they'll have news with that Russian thing.

"I don't even get why you're looking at girls, you can make friends with guys too! You have the perfect one in front of you. You're good friends while you work with her right?"

"Seriously, if you say Robin again-"

"Robin."

"No, don't, no."

"Robin, Robin, Robin."

"Stop, no, no, no."

"Robin. Robin."

"No."

"Robin."

"No."

"Robin."

"NO! No man, she's not my type. Plus, you know I have Y/n."

"Y/n's weird."

"I'm what?"

The two boys instantly turn around to face me as I crouch down to hide with them in the bushes. "Before you ask, I just got here."

"Hey, I said you were weird but I never said it was bad."

"I know. You're awesome Dustin. The other three of your friends seem to be acting strange and not in a good way but you've always had your good senses."

Dustin smiles gratefully and Steve wraps his arm around my shoulder. Dustin rolls his eyes.

"Now that you're both out of High School, which means you're technically an adult, don't you think it's time you move on from primitive constructs such as popularity?"

I snicker in slight annoyance. "Oh, primitive constructs? That some stupid shit you learned at camp...Know...Nothing?" Steve questions.

"Camp Nowhere actually." Dustin corrects him. "And no, it's shit I learned from life."

"Hm." I hum shrugging.

I hear Steve and Dustin argue a little more. Something about Suzie and the advice Steve gave him. I walk off toward Robin once the little kids are finished annoying her. She grumbles.
