I've been sitting here for a couple of minutes now.

I open up my bag and bring out the flowers, placing them on the dirt in front of me

Here Lies Billy Hargrove. Brother of two and Son of A Father and Step-Mother. 1967-1985.

"Hey..."

I raise my head. "Hi, Steve."

"You came to visit him again?" He asks softly.

I nod. "Me and Max came around yesterday. I have forgotten to give the flowers to him so I've done it now."

Steve sighs, taking a seat beside me. The wind blows through my hair. Calmly. Steve wraps an arm around me. I turn my head to him.

"I didn't know him well. Last year, he seemed like a bit of a jerk."

"We've both grown up in a rough way." I turn back to the grave.

"I know you have."

I sigh, looking down. Lowering my head. "It sucks, you know? He's my twin brother. But I'll no longer be able to celebrate my birthday in same day as him. I'll be living longer than him."

"He'd be proud."

I look up at him. "I-I-I know that sounds bad. But Billy has his moments. And knowing him, that he cares about you and Max. He'd be glad that you're still making it through. He may even be watching over you."

I smile weakly and Steve smiles back. I turn my head back Billy's grave. "I still have a ways to go before I fully recover from this."

"That's okay. You won't be alone." His voice reassures me. I chuckle slightly.

"Hey, Steve?"

"Yeah?"

"Remember the first day I met you?" My head turns in his direction as sit beside each other.

"We both hated each others guts. You told me to stay away from Nancy, Jonathan, and the kids. And I didn't like you at all."

He frowns. "Yeah..."

"I understand that you have been a jerk throughout school. But last year had changed not because I was there, but because you have a heart."

He glances up with wonder. "I went from hating you to loving you. You went from despising me to...always being there. I don't know how I can thank you."

"You don't have to." He chuckles lightly. His hand connects with mine. "I'll be here for you. I made a promise to Billy. I'll make sure you and Max stay safe. At all costs."

He places a kiss on my cheek and I smile lightly. With every passing minute, my heartbeats. Feeling alive. I don't understand why I get to feel this way. But I'm so thankful for the people in my lives.

"Ready to go?"

I nod silently. Steve gets up and helps me to my feet, I glance down at Billy's grave and sigh.

I will always love you brother.

We walk back to Steve's car and Steve opens the door for me. Instantly, the both of us are in a fit of giggles.

"Y/n. Looks like you're in the backseat."

Three months had passed and Barbara was already growing quite big. For a wolf, she barked with pride. A sign of newfound courage after the experiences she's been through.

She's now a courageous wolf. And if there's another problem in the future, I know she'll act heroically because she'll be big and grown at that time. Already big right now.

"She's really growing into a big girl, huh?" I ask.

Steve nods. "Yeap. She'll only get bigger."

"And more fluffier."

We both giggle again and Barbara laughs, before pouncing into the backseat.

Steve gets in the drivers seat. My eyes glisten, and I blink the tears away.

Billy is gone.
Will has moved away.
El has moved on too.

Everything really did change this Summer. I take one last look at the graveyard, saying my mental goodbyes before facing forward again.

Everything could change in one summer. And now, our lives won't be the same. Hopper is gone. El moved away. Billy is dead. My heart has changed. Lucas and Max have each other more. Dustin has a girlfriend. Mike has no girl. Nancy has no Jonathan or job.

Everything has changed for everyone. But...as I shut my eyes and rest my head...

There's a saying...

When one door closes, another will open. It's going to be hard to push this new door open after shutting the one I walked through.

Knowing that the brother that's always been by side. Will not be on that side.

Goodbye. Billy Hargrove. Until I see you again. I'll tell you everything.

When I see you again.
