The plan is complex, but I think you'll figure it out as you go along. Right now, Hopper's picked up a gun as I stay by Steve, his chest against my back.
"Do you two seriously have to be that close?" Erica asks.
I narrow my eyes at her before backing up a bit.
"Thank you...love nerds..."
She walks off and I sigh. "So."
"Yeah?" He asks.
"Everything's been so crazy. And I think that Starcourt mall isn't going to last much longer."
"I'll probably lose my job." He mutters.
"I can't believe I lost mine when I was drugged." I grumble.
"Hey..." I turn to him. "Don't worry about it. What you should worry about, is what's happening now. If anything happens, I want you to know that I love you."
He places a long, passionate kiss on my lips, pulling away a bit and resting his head on mine.
"I...know." He lifts his head up. "I know your brother...Billy's life. Is probably on the line right now."
Barbara whimpers to this.
"But I hope he can make it through. I've only just been getting along with the guy and that's only because I'm your boyfriend and he's your brother."
I sigh, lowering my head. "I know you're going on a mission with El. If it even happens. Both of you are gonna use your powers to take him down, to stop him, to free him. I just hope to God that he'll make it through because I'd rather not see you break."
I bite my lip, my grip a little tighter on his sleeves. "The Mind Flayer has him Steve. And that's really scary. I don't want to lose him."
"I know you don't..." Steve whispers, pulling me close with an arm around my waist and hand on the back of my hair. His arm around my waist goes to my back, in a soothing way.
"Do you want me to help in any way?" He asks.
"As much as I'd like that. I truly honestly believe there is nothing you can do on that scenario."
Steve lets out a sharp breath and sighs. "Alright."
He kisses my cheek then let's go of me. "I love you, Y/n Hargrove."
"I love you, Steve Harrington."
He quickly runs to the group, and I sit there, on the floor. They have a small conversation before Dustin, Erica and Steve run off to the outside. Robin also joins them, leaving me on my own. I sigh, lowering my head.
This is gonna suck...
I glance over. Seeing everyone who's left. Joyce is squeezing the air out of Will.
"Mom, you're suffocating me."
Then Eleven sitting next to Hopper.
"My batteries low, but..."
Murray talking to Nancy and Jonathan.
"Second to top lock, third to top lock..."
And Mike, Max, and Lucas talking. Mike goes up to El and says something to her, saying they should go. Hopper murmurs something as El hugs him. I smile weakly, watching the scene unfold before me.
Everything is crazy. And it's going down tonight.
Mike and Max help El to her feet as they walk away.
"Mike?"
he turns around to face Hopper as Max and El look back.
"......Be careful."
