We pull the black jeep over on the side of the road. "The trail is right here," Travis claims. Now I'm scared, but I like being scared. I think I'm actually excited for all the things that I was so scared of.
Teagan's the first person to get out, she pulls Rylee by the hand with her. Everyone else, including me, follows. I walk over to the side of the jeep that faces the woods. I stand right beside Cannon.
"You all good Boss?" Cannon questions me. "Just peachy," I speak. "Are you okay?" I ask. "Just peachy Boss," Cannon smiles.
It goes quiet for another minute, Teagan and Rylee kiss each other, but then they stop. "Lets go guys," Teagan commands. We all walk into the woods, Travis leads us. Rylee and Teagan walk behind everyone.
It's kind of funny, because I'm the only single person here. Even Travis has a wedding ring on his left ring finger. Then again I'm only twelve years old, so I guess it makes sense that I'm single.
The forest is silent, all I can hear is our breathing and foot steps. It's not normal for the woods to be this quiet, even I know that and I'm from the city.
"I don't like this," I hear Teagan speak. "I know Teagan," Rylee responds. "It's too quiet something isn't right," Teagan whispers. I look back at Rylee and Teagan, and then I look to the front of our pack. "It's way to silent we're not even near the cave," Travis reports to us.
"Everybody stop walking and circle up in a tight circle. Backs to each other, we need to see every angle," Teagan orders. We all do as she says, I stand in between Rylee and Cannon. "Cannon try to locate the Tringers," Teagan commands. "Yes Boss," Cannon replies. We stand there for about thirty seconds, but it felt like much longer.
"They're surrounding us, there's nine of them," Cannon reports. There's nine of them and six of us, only five of us have Recs. They outnumber us by three.
Rylee whispers in Teagans ear, she then leans towards me. "Tell the others to place a hand on me, I'm going invisible," Rylee insists. I pass the message to Cannon, he passes it to Brynn, she passes it to Travis. We all put a hand on Rylee, we vanish.
"Stay still, don't make a sound," Rylee whispers. We all listen, we are all tense. "Cannon tell us when they leave," Teagan whispers. I don't hear a response from Cannon.
I can hear the twigs cracking from the Tringers movement. The Tringers are mumbling, they sound confused and in awe. The Tringers come out from hiding. They are all around 6'11, and have orange skin.
They walk near us, they have confused expressions on their faces. "They got away," The smallest Tringer snaps. "Lets go," another Tringer speaks. They head further up the trail.
We waited about fifteen minutes, and we become visible once again. Everyone lets out a massive sigh of relief. "We need to be careful from here on out," Teagan remarks. "Okay Boss," Cannon mutters.
I feel scared usually I love being terrified, but this is a horrible feeling in my gut. "Alex are you okay?" Teagan worries. I nod my head in response to what she said. Teagan puts an arm around me. "You're shaking," Teagan whispers. I didn't notice that I was shaking, I don't really know how to stop shaking. "Oh" I mutter.
"It's okay to be scared, we all are," Teagan states. "I know," I respond. Teagan stops walking, she stops me too, she hugs me tightly. It feels good to be hugged, I never really get them. "Thank you," I sniffle. "It's all going to be okay kiddo," Teagan speaks softly.
We pull out of the hug and continue on the hike, we rejoice with the others.
