I have latched myself onto Rylee, I feel safer than I've ever felt right now. I feel safe when I'm with Rylee. Also, I almost died again, I don't think anyone can take more death.
"I need you more," I whisper in Rylees ear. Rylee presses her forehead to mine. "You're the only thing that I'll ever need," Rylee whispers. I kiss Rylee in response, I don't care if everyone's watching. Rylee pulls back from the kiss, her ocean blue, watery eyes, look into mine. Rylee kisses me back. I love her so much, and I know she's scared.
"Boss I know you almost died, but get a fucking room," Cannon tries to lift the mood. "Does it still hurt?" Alex questions. How much of this did she watch? Before I can answer Brynn speaks. "She's going to be in pain for a very long time, that's not something we can fix," Brynn states. I am in pain, not as much but it's still there.
"But we cured it," Rylee remarks. "We might have cured her, but the long term effects are chronic pain, major depression, possibility of seizures, and other things that we don't know yet," Brynn informs.
I look from Rylee to Brynn. "How do you know this?" I question. "I know a lot about the subject, I don't know how much your dad told you, but my dad told me everything. Your symptoms become the long term effects, and those were your symptoms," Brynn speaks. "Some can be helped and others can't," She adds. "Oh uh okay," I mumble.
I take Rylees hand and squeeze it. I'm glad that I'm not dying, but I'm in so much pain. I can feel Rylee looking at me, I don't really want to make eye contact.
"It'll be okay Teag," Rylee whispers. I grunt in response. Rylee puts her hands on my cheeks, she turns my head so that I face her. Rylee kisses my neck, her lips are warm on my skin. She moves up to my lips, I kiss her back. "You're my pain killer," I smile. "I know," Rylee whispers in between kisses.
"Get a fucking room Boss," Cannon snaps. "Shut it Cannon," I counter. "All better?" Rylee smirks. I smile in response to her. It still hurts, but the pain is dulled down. Alex leaves Travis's side, and sits down beside us.
"Are you all good kiddo?" I question. "Yeah I'm good," Alex replies. I'm one hundred and two percent sure that the whole me almost dying thing scared her. "Are you okay now?" Alex asks. "Yes I'm fine now," I slightly smile.
I glance over at the Tringers, they're talking among themselves. Except Theana, she's watching us. I can't read how she's feeling, she has a neutral expression on her face.
"Teag," Rylee grabs my attention. "Sorry," I whisper. Rylee brushes a few stray hairs out of my face. "It's okay Teagan, you just spaced out was all," Rylee speaks. I tend to space out more often than not these days. "What were you thinking about Boss?" Cannon asks. "Nothing" I respond, as I look into his pale blue eyes. "Okay" Cannon whispers. "Boss I've known you for longer than anyone here, and I know the look on your face," Cannon remarks. He's right, he knows the look on my face.
It's the same look I had when I shattered every bone from my foot to my knee. ""It's okay for you to not know what comes next," Cannon tries to sound confident. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, or even what I'm going to do next. "But we can't stay here, even I know that," Cannon states.
"He's right, you can't stay here. If me and my crew could find you, then the rest of the Tringers will find you too," Theana adds into the conversation. "Where are we supposed to go then?" I snap. "We can go uphill, there's an opening in the forest, it used to be a summer camp for kids. There's cabins, enough for all of us," Theana speaks. "I don't know if we should be going," Rylee worries.
Theana looks from Rylee to me. "All I'm asking from you guys, is for you to trust me just a little," Theana begs. I grab Rylees hand and squeeze. "Okay, but you and your crew are to walk ahead of my pack and I," I give in. "Yes ma'am," Theana responds.
Theana leads her fellow Tringers deeper into the woods, we follow them. Rylee and I walk behind everyone, we hold hands. "Does it still hurt?" Rylee asks. "Nope" I lied. Rylee lets go of my hand and outs her arm around my waist, I do the same. "I know you're in pain, you're a bad liar," Rylee whispers.
I smile because she's right, I'm a horrible liar. I'm surprised that she can tell I'm in pain though, I am really good at hiding my pain. I fidget with the ring I had gotten back in Germany.
Rylee's hand feels warm around my waist, but I'm wearing two hoodies and I'm getting hot. "Do you want your sweater back, I'm too hot," I speak. "Yeah sure," Rylee replies. Her hoodie fits over mine because of the size difference between us. I take Rylees hoodie off and hand it back to her, she ties it around her waist.
We walk for another two hours in silence, then the summer camp comes into view. "Thank god," I mumble. "Yeah" Rylee laughs, as everyone groups around the fire pit.
