Hey, I'm home.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Taehyung wordlessly stared out at the terrace. His mind tried to concentrate on the world outside, trying to simulate the orange sun falling over the city. Casting a glow.

The wind whisked past his hair, pushing ever so lightly off the edge. The fall was an inevitable death, the city was oddly empty down there but yet Taehyung could hear every single city sound. The cars, people chattering, buzz of machines at the road side construction.

The wind came back again, this time from the back with a strong force. Like it was urging Taehyung to jump. He wanted to jump. What will be more painful? The fall? Or the hit?

He thought deeply to himself, wedging his foot out. The wind was howling harder now, swirling around Taehyung's clothes like misty tendrils. Urging him to follow them.

He put his second foot out. Oddly enough, he didn't feel a thing. No burning sensation in his throat, not tightening of his chest. Just a eerie calm traveling through his conscious.

Follow us. The winds whispered, brushing past Taehyung's ears. He closed his eyes and felt them. They were soft and gentle as they skimmed past Taehyung but swirled harder around him like a brewing storm. Jump.

He tried to have his final thoughts before he followed them. Trying to pick his best memories before leaving, but he couldn't remember a thing. Taehyung tried his hardest to recollect what happened in the past few days. Nothing returned back from the abyss of his mind.

Follow us! The winds seemed desperate to pull him now. Fluttering his clothes and pulling them taught against the strain. Taehyung took a trembling step back, away from the edge.

The city voiced faded into the distance, now replaced by the harsh storm. No. He restrained himself. Something is wrong, I can't remember anything.

Taehyung felt like crying now. As if his emotions suddenly came back, flooding him like torrent waters. He was missing something. There was something he was searching for.

“Taehyung”

The voice echoed in Taehyung's ears as the winds enclosed on him. It's not real, it can't be real.

Something in Taehyung snapped and he remembered everything. He pulled himself back into a safe distance as the winds suddenly disappeared.

Taehyung jolt up in the seat and felt a subtle hand rest on his shoulder. He glanced at Yoongi staring at him with a confused expression.

"Thank god you woke up" Yoongi tried to smile,"We.. We're here"

The last. Taehyung's chest tightened. It was the last house left to search. He looked over, finding the boys already standing near the big iron gate. Their looks seemed anticipated but troubled.

Taehyung had tried his best to keep his hopes up. The boys even helped him look at the best side of things. But hope was going to hurt.

What will hurt more? The fall of his hope? Or the hit of the reality?

He nodded at Yoongi and disembarked from the car. He followed the older closely and hesitated to took a step closer to the gate. He held in his breath and gazed up at the house which washed out under the sunset hues.

The boys gave him encouraging smiles but it couldn't mask the evident fatigue on their faces. They were tired. He was tired.

Let's get over with this.
