"Shortcake!" Owen squealed at me when I reached my locker before first period. It was way too early to hear that.
"Hey! Move." I changed my expression from happy and excited to cold until he moved out of the way of my locker.
"Are you coming to the game on Thursday?" He asked as he watched me put in my combination.
"I'm performing before so yeah." I shoved my board into my locker and slammed it shut before it could even think about falling out. "Why?"
"Eli wanted me to ask," He shut a hand over his mouth as he slipped up. "I mean, I wanted to know because you're my best friend forever and OH GOD PLEASE DON'T TELL ELI!" Owen's eyes were so wide I thought they would pop like a balloon at any second.
"I won't tell him," I laughed as he wiped imaginary sweat off his forehead. "But you have to tell me why he wanted to know!" I poked a finger at his chest as we made our way down the hallway.
"He's starting and he didn't know if you were coming but he's a pussy so he didn't ask you himself." Owen puffed out his chest as he insulted his friend. I rolled my eyes and pushed open the door for us to get inside.
"I doubt he cares if I'm there." I shrugged and pulled out my textbook.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Shortcake."

I was practically dragging myself through the halls and I'm 99.9% positive I looked like a zombie. Those four hours only kept me up for so long and before I knew it, I was falling asleep in every class so far, the bell acting as my personal alarm clock. Lunch was finally here and I couldn't have been happier; A full hour to sleep!
"What crawled up your ass and died?" Owen asked when I slammed my bag down and sat at the table.
"Kiss my ass, Owen." I stuck up my middle finger at him and closed my eyes.
"All you had to do was ask, Shortcake." I felt the table dip and my eyes shot open to see Owen making his way to my side of the table.
"I was joking, keep your pasty self on the other side of the table before I get a restraining order against you!" I felt like I was growling at him but I couldn't help it, sleep deprived Isa is not a happy camper.
"She was up pretty late bro, just cool it for awhile." Eli's voice spoke up and he lifted the corners of his mouth in a small smile. He didn't sound angry at all, but he was being serious and that quieted Owen down.
"How would you know that, babe?" Is she seriously here? You've got to be fucking kidding me. Ava's voice was like nails on a chalkboard and my ears were going to start bleeding if she spoke another word.
"We were hanging out," He shrugged as if he hadn't made me the most beautiful cup of hot chocolate at two in the morning. "Here, sleep for awhile, I'll wake you up before class." He handed me a black hoodie he had just dug out of his backpack. I took it gratefully and leaned my head on the table, the soft material of his hoodie separating me from the cold surface. I could feel Ava's glare from across the table but I couldn't waste anymore energy on her.

I was dreading dance. Not only was Satan herself inside the studio, but after there was a meeting and training in Ridgecrest and the nap I had at lunch was nowhere near enough to make me stand for the rest of the night, much less workout for two hours straight.
I walked in anyways, heading straight to the locker room to change into my black Nike shorts and shoes, keeping on my crop top and shoving my jacket into my locker. Ava was already seated in the front, stretching her mile long legs farther than they needed to be. Once she caught site of me she was a god damned lion and apparently memo got out that I wanted to be her fucking meal.
